  • skytrak wifi disconnects frequently now

Might be a me problem, but just wondering if anyone else is having any issues with disconnects because my wifi is solid with all other devices in my home.

I'm getting frequent disconnects (going from green/green/green, to red/yellow/green in the middle of playing TGC)

I have playing for more than a year with hardly any disconnects.

Just reaching at straws hoping it's not me. I have 'reset' the skytrak network settings (pinhole on the bottom) probably 10 times in the last month.

Sometimes after reconnecting it'll run great for over an hour. It's weird.

As an aside, the wifi signal strength shown in the skytrak app when I am setting up the skytrak in network mode is 2 to 3 bars out of 5 (so not the greatest, but like I said, it's been great for the last year).

I use to have alot of disconnects. My skytrak is in the garage and router in the house. I purchased a wifi booster (wifi extender) and now rarely have problems. They go for under $100 and are simple.. just plug in to a location closer to your skytrak.

Same setup for me, I play in the garage. I used a 2nd router as an access point and got it closer to my garage, but maybe it's still too degraded. Thanks kphdoc

Anybody else having any more issues than usual in the last month, though?

I’m experiencing the same issue with JNPG. Very frustrating.

I have the same issue. It actually got worse last night. Mine is also in the garage and I have to open my garage door to get a connection. Once connected iit's typically fine for me to close the door and keep playing, until last night when I was getting lots of drop outs.

All other wifi devices in the garage work fine.

I'm sure mine is a signal issue seeing as I've build my sim in a virtual Faraday cage (and possibly also a poor antenna in the Skytrak). So i've just purchased one of these https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/300Mbps-...72.m2749.l2649.

For $15 I figured it's worth a try. Now to wait 3 weeks for it to arrive

90% of my disconnect issues went away when I purchased a very good wi fi router - https://www.bestbuy.com/site/asus-ac...d4083dd932f433

I also moved the router into the room with the skytrak (just ran a 50 ft gbit cable from modem to router wan port. The hardwired PC to router as well.

Now - I get very few miss reads - no miss reads with one of the software sim packages and the skytrak software.

As a suggestion for anyone having this problem load the free program inssider home into your laptop. This is essentially a network sniffer which will tell you how good the signal is and on what channel along with anything else on the air in your location. Take the laptop to your Skytrak hitting location and see how good the signal is when it's working correctly. When you are having difficulty run the program and see if there is either signal degradation or congested channel interference.
