  • Sales promotion for Skytrak

    Hi All,

I'm new to the forum. I've started a golf sim build. I have a question about Skytrak. I spoke to a rep today who said the sale promo is over the Skytrak. What are the typical sales periods (Christmas, Masters in April, etc)? Do they offer them more than once a year? Is the extended warranty worth the extra $99?

    Thanks

I've only followed the launch monitor market for about a year now so I can't really speak to the "seasonality" but Skytrak did run their $300 off promo for the Xmas 2017 season so it's possible they would run something like that again for 2018 but no guarantees!

I would spend the extra cash on their full metal jacket (hard shell cover). I have already had a friend hit the Skytrak with a nasty shot and the full metal jacket probably just saved a $2,000 investment vs. an extended warranty that is very iffy.

In general extended warranties are a waste of money. Father day is usually a big sale day. How does one hit the skytrak? You mean with the club or a ball bounce back?

My bet was a toe shot. Peoples swings can change significantly when swinging inside a confined space, especially with an expensive little box sitting next to them.

I've hit my own skytrak by accidentally hitting the ball with a practice swing that went straight at the skytrak. Pushed the FMJ back a few inches. I assume this would have damaged the skytrak had I not had a FMJ case.

How long is the extended warranty? The regular warranty is only 6 months which is pitiful.
