  • Skytrak metal case evaluations?

Well, after 16k+ shots on my Skytrak I finally toed or shanked a low punch shot into the unit. It was inside the plastic case. The unit was knocked over but surprisingly the only sign of damage is that the plastic clasp on the case broke. The Skytrak seems to working fine at the moment.

Anyway it got me thinking I should find better protection than the plastic case and was interested in hearing opinions from those who have used the metal case, particularly in regards to misreads experienced when using the case vs. not using.

I received my case recently and immediately had a few misreads. The putting also was affected. All of a sudden I could not hit a straight putt. I took it back out of the case and the putting straightened out and no more funny misreads (big push slice). I haven't tried it again. Anyone have any ideas on what I might be doing wrong? I did fasten it down with the screws provided. My case has the thin bars in the front and a handle on the top (open slot).

I had to play around with the legs and how much they need to be screwed in to be properly leveled. Hopefully it is just a matter of adjusting your FMJ 'feet'.

        It’s a must buy I would say
I haven’t hit my skytrak once yet but I’ve taken 100 shots due to an injury I just got it a month ago and can’t use it lol sucks

but my wife has been using it and her first shot was a shank right into skytrak luckily I have the case,,,,her 3rd shot was another shank into the unit then her 7th into unit agin lol after that I stopped watching

I think its VERY clear! YOU NEED THIS! I have glanced a few shots off, but a few weeks ago I had a terrible shot and directly smoked the Sky Track, I didn't turn it 90* but it was out of skew to say the least! It is cheap insurance for a $2000 instrument! And I'm pretty sure if you do not have it and it gets rocked even with an extended warranty that would NOT be covered! It most likley wouldn't be covered even if you had the FMJ. I think this has been beaten to death! Haha!

I have had the plastic case for the past three years. Fits like a glove. I have had it hit once by a toe or shank. It fell over but no damage. Good enough for me.

The FMJ is a “must-have”... not only does it give you protection but it also allows you to easily level the skytrak unit and raise it to the same height as your hitting surface. It also has a small ledge that’s perfect for an alignment stick. It’s a no-brainer... RUN • JUMP • DIVE

After my son-in-law shanked a couple Qolf balls into my Skytrak, I grabbed my phone and ordered the metal case someone’s selling on eBay for $75 plus the ride. Gonna modify it by adding a screw on metal top to protect from bounce back in the case of an errant shot.
