Misreads / Firmware Update?

It seems since the release of 3.1, my Skytrak has had more mis-reads than ever before.

I've also noticed that some other customers were mentioning that their mis-read percentages have went up quite a bit in the thread that announces version 3.1.

I'm assuming the firmware was updated also which may be causing these mis-reads?

This is not just in the Skytrak 3.1 software as I've seen quite a few more mis-reads in TGC also which probably points to a firmware issue?

I know this is hard to re-create as a use-case scenario but I just wanted to give you some input as my Skytrak was very solid before this update and it seems coincidental that I'm seeing more problems since this release.

Let me know if there is anything I can provide for these mis-reads. However, they are pretty random so I can't point to one type of shot, etc.

We didn't upgrade the firmware or change anything with the image capture or analysis. Honestly, my best guess (if you happen to be using a USB connection) is static interference. Static can interrupt the signal and cause the shot to get dropped. Unfortunately golf mats are high-static environments which is only exacerbated in the dry winter months.

I did upgrade to a new computer and these random mis-reads have increased ten-fold since that computer upgrade.

Could the new computer have any effect on the Skytrak hardware... The computer is better than the previous one from a processing / graphics standpoint but just wondering if that variable may be the issue since it's the only other thing I can point to right now.

If misreads go up, something must have changed. You mention new computer, and as seth suggests, network connection could be a culprit. The other usual suspects would be change in mat, ST height or something reflective introduced in ST's field of view.
