Anyone else having a lot of misreads lately? It seems like it misses 100% of the balls that I feel were well struck and picks up all the other shots. I am using a swing speed radar next to the Skytrak and it seems when my 7-iron hits 95-100+ mph (actual speed is probably lower but just using the radar for reference) on the radar the Skytrak doesn't pick up the shot. The top red light goes on like it's going to send the shot but then turns back to green. I don't remember it being this bad prior to the update.

SkyTrak_Seth would opening a support case help? I just went out again to try using my skytrak and about 20 shots in a row we’re no reads with my pw. I stopped after that. It’s a pretty expensive paper weight right now. -
So I'm pretty sure I figured out what was wrong with mine... I had cut open a couple of my balls and they were cracked! I switched over to brand new balls and it has been reading my shots much better. I didn't think the balls were the problem because what are the odds that 10+ balls were no good! I usually hit one ball until it bounces away from me then I grab another, but when it wasn't reading I tried multiple balls and so I discounted the ball as a culprit. I apologize for blaming the unit, but it does seem like a lot of people are having the issue so maybe if you guys haven't done so already try some brand new balls and see if that helps. Maybe the software has gotten pickier on what shots it will send recently or I have no clue what is wrong but mine seems to be working fine now after switching balls.Comment

I will try that. When I using the WGT I have no issues. Seems it’s only with the 3.1.1 app.Comment

i tried last night, i had about 20 misreads in a row and then moved the skytrak 6 inches closer to the wifi and it was fine.Comment

I noticed this week a ton of mis-reads as well, primarily in JNPG as I use that way more than the Skytrak app. I have a Wifi extender that is less than 10 ft from the unit and my Skytrak has the old plastic case, so I know the signal is good. Not only is mine misreading a bunch more, but last round I played on JNPG it would disconnect from the Skytrak frequently. I had to reconnect it probably 6 times in a round.Comment

Hey all, sorry for the lack of response. I'm on vacation this week and this thread was just brought to my attention. It looks like there are a number of different issues floating around in this thread. What I can say for certain is that absolutely nothing was changed in the app regarding unit connection, shot trigger, image analysis, unit firmware, or anything that could affect reads/misreads. There is an underlying SDK that handles all of that, and the app is merely a frontend display/UI. But that SDK hasn't changed either in a very long time.
it looks like some of the issues have been resolved, and some are still outstanding. I know it's not ideal, but my suggestion would be to have your unit checked out if you are experiencing frequent misreads. I'll be happy to try and help out once I'm back in the office Monday, but out of all the misread issues I've ever tried to help on, none have been software related.Comment

Mine session today wasn't as bad. I'd switched out the balls. It appears the unit is picker with the placement of the ball. I have the DWquail 5 star mat. Sometimes strands stick up and the laser will be in different locations. I had to flatten my mat before each shot to ensure the dot was in its correct spot. Might be time to rotate the mat.
I would say now its about 1 in 15 times I get a no read.Comment

Glad to hear. I have a feeling it's just unfortunate timing with the app release. I think you are on the right track with the mat rotation. We had a very similar issue at the PGA show where the mat would "pull up" with every iron shot. If you didn't tamp the mat down, it failed to read. Since the last couple updates I feel that I have had more no-reads than ever before. Golfed all winter with the skytrak and wasn't until the last few weeks been having issues.
It always had a tough time picking up flop shots, putts where people wouldn't follow through or a really terrible shank.
Now there is no-reads often on chips, drives, and iron shots.
Also, been having issues with TGC in the last couple weeks.
Had friends over and couldn't get anything to load like my internet was insanely slow..exited out and tried my internet and everything was loading instantly but in TGC it was unplayable so we had to go offline to play.
Lately it has been very slow trying to get it to work and then once it is working we will have a lottttttt of no-reads. That is in both Skytrak and TGC.
Frustrating now because we would like it to be competitive and fun but when someone hits a nice shot gets a no-read and then the re-do is a chunk or a shank they are pissed off and justifiably so.

Ok, so if it is happening in both I would certainly recommend having your unit checked out (if you have exhausted setup/ball/mat possibilities). Both SkyTrak and TGC have been using the same SDK and firmware for awhile, so I don't see where there could be any issues on the software front given nothing has really changed there.Originally posted by Bcalli90 View PostComment

The issue with slow connectivity on TGC seems to be only when I played with a foursome. Of course. Playing solo or with 2 everything seems to load great.

What exactly does having a unit checked out entail? I know you say it’s coincidence but my unit is brand new and worked fine before the patch with negligible misreads. Tonight it was fine hitting a few chips, was one for nine with sixty degree shots and was zero for 21 on six iron shots. Most of he shots were in network mode. At the end I switched to direct mode. Was able to read fifteen yard chips same as network mode but zero for three on full swing shots. Please advise.Last edited by munihack; 04-25-2018, 12:57 AM.Comment

Bottom line is that I don't want you to be unhappy with your SkyTrak and I want to get it resolved for you as soon as possible. I don't think that mediocre performance is at all inline with our product, nor should it be acceptable for you as the end user. Definitely try some of that troubleshooting, but the unit should be working for you without a hitch, so let's get it resolved. The fact that you have issues with TGC in multiplayer mode makes me think it might be network-related.Originally posted by Bcalli90 View PostComment
