  • Do I really need to charge for 6 hours before using :(

Alrighty folks, I just received my Skytrak and was looking to get straight into it but it says it needs to be charged for 6 hours before use. Is this really necessary, can I have it plugged in charging while playing? I know batteries used to need charging and properly maintained in the olden days but i thought the newer batteries were more advanced and this was non issue nowadays. Thanks in advance anyone can enlighten me, cheers.

I didn't wait when I got mine in December and it has been working fine. I opened it and fired it up right away. Congratulations on getting your ST!

Cheers mate, yeah I seen you can play with it plugged in but it said to charge for a minimum 6 hours before using so wasnt sure if that meant letting it charge to 100% before using even if plugged in. I had stuff to do anyway so wasn't so bad, the real pain was getting all the software and license's to register.

I have had bad experiences with premature battery death, so I am paranoid about it. I'd follow the instructions to the letter.

I would love to use the skypro integration option, but the skypro is dead to the world. I originally followed the recommended charging procedures, but once I stopped using it regularly, I let the battery run totally dead. Now I have a 12 gram paper weight. Not good for much.

Yeah im not normally one for holding back and charging before use but given the cost of the Skytrak I thought 6 hours wasnt too long to wait just to be safe, I had things to do anyway so wasnt bad.

That sucks about your skypro, will skygolf not replace/fix it for you?
