    Spin into greens

The spin into greens is super unrealistic. SkyTrak_Seth just informed me that all greens always have the same receptiveness (which I thought maybe was the problem). A ball that comes in on a very low trajectory with tons of spin, lands and immediately begins spinning back. It would be awesome to see something more realistic model based on trajectory, spin/decay and green conditions. It's tough to practice into greens know the ball has a magical response when it lands. Carry numbers are good but this needs some serious work.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Do competitors simulate this differently? Maybe a patent holding back the innovation here?

I agree. I would like to improve the green response, as well as allow for different conditions.

Is this something in the back log? Adding a bunch of wedge challenges would be sweet but without an attempt at real life responses when the ball lands, what's the point?

e6 lets you pick green hardness (three choices) and speed (three choices). It takes the SkyTrak spin numbers and acts accordingly. It ain't no where near perfect...but we do often get some spin back or sticky landings.

Agree with Trumb. If green roll out is not realistic, why bother?

If ball flight can be modelled to match real world ball flight, roll out should be a cinch. I would love to be able to set slope, firmness, stimp or what have you so that roll out matches the courses I play.

I'm looking for the sim developers to mimic Bermuda greens and provide indication of grain. Add to that grain changing through the day. Timed arrows showing grain direction (s) or shiny/dark patching.

For now, Id be happy if the KP, target challenges, and skills assessment could be set to carry only. As it stands, I have to create my own challenges in practice mode and then export to a spreadsheet where I use Pythagoras to calculate total error from distance and direction.

Sorry, but relatively speaking, the aerodynamics are almost trivial compared to the interaction between the ball in the ground at impact and until the point where it's achieved a pure roll (bouncing, skidding, etc..). There are some models out there that give "guesstimates" but none that are really detailed or cover the wide range of different turf conditions that are possible.
