  • What mat works best with Skytrak?

It seems like many mats have driver placement separate from where you're hitting irons. I don/t want to have to move the Skytrak for different shots.
Thinking of a Fiberbuilt Performance 5x4. Does that work well with Skytrak?

I use FB squares and it works fine. Use a tomahawk/aerospark/birtee with an elastic string attached and you don't have to move the ST.

I have to put my simulator setup away after every session so I have a mat that I can roll up and put away when I'm done. I use the Tomahawk tees as well, never had a problem with them and my SkyTrak. I did get the neon color ones to avoid the white ones.

      Tomahawk Golf Tees:

The Net Return Pro Turf is designed exclusively for The Net Return. A 6′×10′ high-quality surface with 42 oz nylon face, foam backing, and continuous ball return.

After getting our SkyTrak, we first upgraded to a Net Return simulator series enclosure, and tried using it with an inexpensive hitting mat and real balls - we ended up teeing up every shot, including the irons - and decided to get a better mat.

We decided on the Fiberbuilt 5'x4' performance mat - and it has worked great. The hitting area has their Grass hitting surface, which has a 300,000 swing guarantee, plus the hitting surface is in 3 pieces, so even if you do wear out one piece, you can swap them around. You can hit off their grass, without a tee. So we only use tees for our drivers and when hitting from the "tee box" during a simulated round. We have some BirTees we use instead of the provided holes or trying to insert a regular tee into the grass mat.

The only concern we have is moving the mat. To keep the mat lightweight, they use foam sections underneath the stance mat - which are only held in by gravity (when the mat is laying on the floor). Since this is set up in a spare bedroom, if we ever have to move the mat temporarily to use the room, because the mat isn't rigid, and the foam sections easily come, we may have to disassemble it (cutting the tie-wraps) and then re-assemble when putting it back into the room for use.

I bought a Truestrike mat and I really like it, but it’s not cheap. Feels really nice to strike off, mishits are apparent with reduced ball speed and reduced back spin, and I have no issues with sore elbows, shoulders, etc. Comes in four sections, and quite heavy. The striking section can be replaced, but no sign of wear after 9 months of use.
