Can anyone comment on the amount of lighting that works best when using your SkyTrak? More is better, or less?

For the very short time ive owned my ST, less than a month, I can say an overhead light on the ball works best for me. I use a led 35 watt track lighting and dim half way as not to wash out my projected image on my impact screen. (I hit 7 feet from screen). I have noticed I run into some issues when there is a light source from the other room facing my back which casts a shadow of my legs on the hitting mat. Some times I get a misread but mostly the red laser disappears and the ST has to reset before the laser dot reappears and ST cycles to all green, but it only reset the laser when I move my shadow temporarily or turn off that light source -
Skytrak will work in the dark. I use just a spotlight over the hitting area but not angled into the Skytrak screen. I have used it in bright garage overhead light too and it's fine. Just make sure there are no reflections that could be picked up in the distance such as car reflectors and what not. I had a friend who played with sneakers on that had reflective fabric in them for running and they may have caused more misreads for him than me. A lot more.Comment

Yup, Skytrak illuminates the ball with IR. It works fine in the dark. Visible light is there so YOU can see the ball. The only thing to watch out for is that room lighting not wash out the IR light reflecting off the ball.Comment
