  • SkyTrak & SkyPro

I plan to buy a SkyPro so that I can get an accurate club speed and PTI (Smash factor), but I have a few questions / suggestions:

    1. Will I need to calibrate the SkyPro each time that I move it to another club? If so, it would be inconvenient and would likely only be used when hitting a number of shots with the same club.
    2. Are there any plans for the PTI to be shown in the main screen (along the bottom of the screen beside the club and ball speed)?
3 Another useful development would be to view the swing plane (from SkyPro) on the SkyTrak screen. Indeed, a dual screen option would be great - view the main screen (on the impact screen) at the same time as the optimiser and skypro being shown on a monitor.

Question 1 seems pretty likely given that's what allows your to orient skypro in any any position relative to the club face. I could be wrong but I think the calibration process is also what measures the club face angle. Without it I would imagine the angle of attack numbers would be pretty off if you're using blades vs game improvement irons

I just bought a Skypro and am really happy with it. Yes, I recalibrate for every club. Not really a big deal for accuracy.

I don't think it's that important for all SkyPro data to be visible on my Skytrak screen. I would rather just see the driving range on the impact svreen, and use my phone to look at swing data since the app is very well designed and easy to use.

I was however unable to pair my Skypro with my Skytrak software, even though I verified that my phone and computer were paired. Maybe it just doesn't work with the android app? SkyTrak_Seth ?

I should also mention that I would really like to see my Skypro data in Skygolf 360. I don't think it's there yet.

I read elsewhere that there were problems with android phones. There is a handy, but lengthy video on utube - search SkyTrak and SkyPro integration.
SkyTrak_Seth I think the dual screen options would be great - practice range on the hitting screen and the optimisation and skypro data on a secondary screen.

I have the skypro and use it with both iPad and samsung galaxy s7. I think the device is amazing and was super helpful when making some swing changes. I have linked it with my skytrak successfully but swing speed just isn't what I use it for. I find my self using ball speed on my skytrak so I don't link it.

              HI

I have skytrak with skypro, don't use the skypro much.

Skypro is a great device, but once i knew my numbers i found i didn't really need club data as my attack angles etc are where you would expect for driver, irons etc.

When i do use skypro i use it on its own on a 7 inch lg android tablet, that way skytrak gives me flight similation and ball data and the skypro gives me club data and 3d swing analysis at the same time.

Skypro made me realize that i don't need a GC2 (cause i get ball data from skytrak) or HMT (which i would rarely use after the first 6 months of ownership).

              regards
              HappyG

I've just done a bunch of research on another thread, and if you are going to use it on an Android device, make sure you can open the app on your device before you purchase the SkyPro. On their web site, the latest version they support is the Galaxy S5. (I have a Galaxy S9+ and the app will not open on it) The biggest concern I had was the fact that the Android app has not been updated since March 2016. There has been quite a few Android software updates since then. Does anyone know when the latest Apple version was created? I just think they may not have their hearts in supporting Android devices. It's sad, because for the price point, I can see where the SkyPro would be very helpful to someone like myself.

UPDATE: It appears they are no longer making SkyPro hardware. The web site is out of stock, and another forum user contacted them and they said they are not making them anymore.

Great suggestion here... I've been looking to pick up a used one to use with my SkyTrak after hearing about all the integrations, and future integrations. I used to have one when it was first released, but had a lot of bugs, and only worked on apple at that time so I got rid of it, since it never quite worked well with my iPod touch I had...

I downloaded the app and tried it on my Galaxy S9+... the app opens, but stays on a blank screen, and pretty much locks up my phone buttons. Useless.... Glad I read this thread today before I bought a used one I couldn't return anywhere!

I don't think the SkyPro ever got the full support and development it needed.. especailly for Android. Seems to be this way for a lot of devices in this space...Ernest Sports is horrible at updating their software or apps for their devices as well... I don't know if they ever updated their Android app for the ES14 to match the functionality of the Apple app. Promised updates MANY times, but after years of waiting, gave up on anything Ernest sports related based on their lack of support for their products...

Just hoping SkyTrak doesn't start lagging in support in the future... it's been good so far, hope they keep up the work.

Man, how in the world did I miss this thread? I'm tagged like 6 times...sorry about that To answer the OP, yes you do have to recalibrate every time you change clubs. Also, there has been talk about customizing the dials on the range, but it's been pushed to the back burner for now. I could see the usefulness of split screens but at this point, we haven't explored much more on the SkyPro integration front simply because, as others have pointed out, it hasn't been updated in years. I can't speak for what the hardware status is, but I haven't heard anything about it being discontinued.
