Aligning the SkyTrak outside the case is easy enough. Alignment sticks work great against the SkyTrak body, and parallel is 100% accurate and easy enough to eyeball. But using FMJ is another story, see the attached image. As you can see, I have to offset the alignment stick fairly left off FMJ in order to get straight shots down my target line (width between the sticks is much closer at the top then the bottom, hope it comes across in the picture).
Like I said it has nothing to do with the SkyTrak because its good outside FMJ. It doesn't seem like it is in there crooked.. but I guess it must be because parallel doesn't work with the front edge of the case. I end up spending 5-10 minutes every time I set up to putt straight over and over until I get it where it needs to be. I putt because its easier to guarantee straightness and removes any variables like the mat or my swing. My setup isn't permanent at the moment so doing this once with lines on the floor/etc isn't an option.
Has anybody else noticed this problem with FMJ? Any pro tips to maybe make the alignment process a little easier rather than my current "trial and error putting"? Thanks in advance, cheers~
