Purchased new router and modem

Hi, I recently had to upgrade my wifi router and my AV guys put in the Araknis Network router and an access point. They also recommended me to upgrade my modem some time ago, and I just purchased the Arris Model SB6190 on their recommendation. I just wanted to check and see if anyone has used either of these products with good result before I go ahead and open this new modem? (I am currently using an antiquated cisco modem in my house and suffering for it).

My understanding Arris makes decent modems. I looked up the mode and it is a DOCIS 3.0 which I thinks means pretty good.
