Just wanted to confirm I didn't miss any announcements from SkyTrak last week.
Best I can tell, there wasn't much beyond the 3.4 and 4.0 software releases (which they announced early) and highlighting TGC 2019.
The Par2Pro coverage was very helpful, so thanks for that!

Any other nuggets of info floating out there?

I'm getting ready to pickup a new unit and wanted to make sure there wasn't a hardware revision or something that might influence my timing/decision.

    Thanks!

Cory at Par2Pro is awesome. He did a great video of our upcoming software releases. Personally, I'd pull the trigger Our focus for 2019 is our software and partner relationships. E6 CONNECT is among those.

Thanks SkyTrak_Seth. That gives me the information I needed. There was never any doubt in my mind that the software support is fantastic. I was mostly concerned about hardware so appreciate the feedback. See ya'll on the course!

The hold up was the licensing system. In order to get it out the door as soon as possible, we majorly simplified the licensing on both sides so I'm really hoping this gets released soon.

          It’s coming.
I called E6 on a 1.6 ask yesterday, putting from fringe. Wondering if they would patch that. I really don’t mind it but some of my friends complain. That led to a Connect discussion. They did not go into a lot of details but was told integration is completely done and it’s a website deployment and legal discussion now. So basically business terms to the finish line.

We should all hope sooner rather than later. No details were shared on pricing, unfortunately.

I’m hoping it’s along the lines of 1.6 annual subscription. I’m not throwing down $1000+ and then renting it annually.

If pricing is out of whack I’ll move to TGC 2019 when my E6 expires in the fall. Fingers crossed that I can keep E6.

Skytrak representative just told me that Connect May be released in the spring. What a joke this proposed rollout is

One of the issue Skytrak will have to work out is what happens to people who've purchased course packs, since Connect uses a different model for the extra courses.

When we purchased our Skytrak last summer, we wanted to buy the course pack that had one of our club's courses - but when we found out Connect would likely be supported at some point, and neither Skytrak or E6 could explain what would happen to our investment in the extra courses - we didn't pull the trigger - and we're still waiting to see when Connect becomes available (since our club's course is one of the standard courses for Connect).

Your home course, how cool that will be if it ever happens. It’s the unwillingness of Skytrak to say what will happen to questions like yours that makes Skytrak and the Connect issue one of the best examples of poor business practice I’ve seen. Talk about not giving a crud or just plain junky business. For this to be a year in the making and them being as lost as they seem is just plain pathetic. It makes the product difficult to recommend

Gazpacho, my opinion differs a little bit. For software packages, I think of Skytrak as a closed distribution medium for E6 Golf, TGC, Fitness, CG3D, and others, with E6 Connect as the IP owned and controlled by E6 Golf. I’m not sure that Skytrak can make the decisions on how E6 prices its software and add-ons. However, Skytrak can in its model I think, control certain business terms, such as revenue share, legal liabilities, support obligations, etc. Whatever E6 does I would assume they will have considered its E6 1.6 subscriber base on Skytrak already, otherwise they will suffer market share losses on that platform. There are quite a few strong competitors, TGC 2019 coming online, etc.

Exactly. E6 CONNECT is so different than anything we've worked with before. But as mentioned above, we really simplified things regarding the licensing and I think it should be ready to roll soon.

Alphaseeker, thanks for the input. Tell me about TGC 2019. Is it out yet and does it have ladies tees. How does it compare to E6. Thanks
