  • Things you would like to see ST add

Love my ST but with that said nothing is perfect. What would your wish list be for future ST options or upgrades?

For me I would like to see an add on piece that can read club head data at impact. Something like a stand alone piece sitting beside or mounted to an ST protective case. The ST does an amazing job of getting a ton of info off a spinning ball but we all know there are a bunch of ways to swing a club to cause that little white ball to pass the sensor with similar spins. The added data would help a lot of people figure out what they are doing wrong. I have an SkyPro which helps a bit in this regard but it is just not the same as knowing what is happening at impact.

    What's on your wish list?

Skytrak now has fairway and greens with the shape shot practice and randomizer.
What would be awesome is a random hole generator and analysis tracking by clubs used and accuracy.

I have had the Skytrak almost a year now and during this time I've seen some app improvements that have greatly added value to the system. The wedge matrix is probably one of the best tools, along with the randomizer to really hone the yardages. I would really like to see the wedge matrix be customizable in terms of the type of swing for each club - Presently there are 4 swings (full, 3/4, 1/2, and 1/4) - I would like to see where we could rename the 4 swings - meaning that each user could name the swings how they personally label them - I use the clock method. I feel that 1/2 is an arbitrary feeling that might switch from day to day but a 9 to 3 swing will be the same today as it will be next month.

As since we are on the subject, I'd like to see up to maybe 6 possible swings per club - customizable names as I mentioned above. I have really found over the last year of using the Skytrak range that I might have up to 6 numbers for a particular club, depending on type of swing. Right now, I just practice on the range with a club and go through each swing and record the numbers manually, but to be able to take a PW out and work on that club for an entire session, running through each swing and having the ability to export that information would be invaluable to me and I suspect many others.

In the last year, I can directly say that using the Skytrak to hone in my exact yardages with my short clubs with various different length swings from 30-140 yards has been the most single valuable tool that Skytrak has given me. A couple of years ago, I might have thought what club and swing would be the best option from 90 yards out to a back pin, but today I know EXACTLY what club and swing will land me within a couple of yards of that number as long as I execute. And it's a lot easier executing when you KNOW the club and swing to use instead of THINKING that you know what club and swing. Confidence is between the ears and there is no faking it.

        1. A user adjustable power setting that can increase or decrease carry distances. This would allow users to compensate for perceived distance inaccuracies. The Power Setting would be constantly displayed on the screen.

        2. Memorize last settings, or a Favorites list.

#1: You can basically do that now with the altitude/temperature/humidity settings. I have my altitude cranked up slightly to compensate.

I would like to see an easier way to change clubs, ie with the up and down arrows. Also, a club testing option where you could put the specs of the club you are testing, ie. shaft, driver loft, driver type.

instead of just changes in the shape of the greens when choosing green difficulty for the range. Perhaps greens guarded with bunkers, just more realistic when working with shorter irons and wedges

A random hole generator would be an awesome feature, I second that! That, or being able to create your own set of a few holes (maybe from a local course) so that you can work on getting a sense of how you would really play that hole.

I think that randomizer was a great addition. Five things I would like to see:

1.Randomized challenges with exportable tracking of results. I would like to track percent error based on carry (ie 21 feet from 100 yards is 7%).

              2. A carry rather than total option for current challenges (KP and Target practice)

              3. Additional simple games that can be played with carry targets (tic tac toe, battles ship, blackjack etc) in order to keep practice interesting, especially for kids.

              4. More variety of target green shapes in order to create realistic challenges in terms of club selection, shot shape etc.

              5. Ability to adjust fairway/green roll out characteristics. This is really quite simple. There are published formulas on roll out. The inputs are firmness, green speed, green slope (magnitude and direction). This way we can set target greens to behave like our home course greens.

I would like for skytrak to offer TGC for Mac users. Everything I own is apple and don’t want to buy a pc just for skytrak. Also do not like boot camp so that is not an option for me either.

It would be awesome if it were able to know our location and setup the weather variables based on location instead of us inputting that data. So as soon as it boots up it know temp, wind, elevation, etc.
