First round on TGC was a complete disaster.

    There is a learning curve, stick with it with. My list of things to consider;

    The courses in TGC can often feel tight off of the tee. Alot are aimed at recreating PGA tour courses. This will show up your driver start lines and spin big time.

    Elevation changes are a data point that is new to golfers so many can't adjust. Throw in accuracy/inaccuracy of the game here and it takes a while to learn. I've no idea how up 6feet impacts my yardage in real life, nor 45 feet down. Hell I couldn't even tell you what 16feet up looks like on a course.

    Yardages less than 50 yards is a visual thing for most folks and that takes time to get used to on the SIM. Everyone can laser 150yards and know what club to hit, but who lasers 17yards +4feet up? Time needed to learn.

    Putting is similar, what does a 17foot putt feel like or a 21footer 3inches up? No idea, need to learn the game.

    Bunkers are hit or miss.

    Chipping roll out, what's a 7 yard carry feel like?

    See my point here?

    Away from the game, you've got indoor swing syndrome, allingment, folks thinking they are more tiger woods than the reality of whinny the poo.

    Everyone almost without exception will tell you it's the best investment in your game you've ever made.

    Good luck - see if you can catch me on tour

      It's going to be easy catching you on tour if you don't show up for your tee time! You injured?

    I was an Alpha tester for TGC 2019, and I am noticing 15 - 20 additional yards with my driver on the training driving range in TGC 2019 versus the driving range on SkyTrak. This is with no wind, the same ball speed, similar spin and launch numbers, etc. I used Flightscope's trajectory analysis tool and it was very close to the Skytrak results. TGC has my carry and total distance farther than it should be.

      Check your boost settings then, maybe something is in there for woods giving you these distances.

      I have never changed the boost settings on my SkyTrak, but it would affect the SkyTrak range and TGC 2019 Practice Range shots equally.

      No it would impact just tgc. I never saw a setting that could boost the skytrak range

    I can't say I've noticed that. The pros take a lot divots from varying distances with their wedges. Yeah, when they're chipping from <30 yards or closer form the hole, they tend to brush the surface more from tight lies than take a divot to get high ball spin for the stop and drop effect near the hole. To me the divot is the result of the angle of attack which also creates high ball spin. Anyway, my $.02.

      Angle of attack is just one component to creating spin. It is really the difference between the angle of attack and dynamic loft at impact. This difference is known as spin loft. The reason many pros have a shallow angle of attack on pitch shots is because trackman and foresight have enabled the community to understand that ideal spin loft is 45 degrees. Thus, with a 60 degree club a steeper angle of attack produces less spin.
