My sons X Box does have occasional problems, but everything else Sky Q, Netflix , iPads etc all fine. Do you think the USB to PC won't won't work as a result?

Loose cable is a worry. Try it, it’s defo worth a shot...

It’s tough to speculate what will work and what won’t. This is usually a problem that is unique to your environment. The USB connection will remove one wireless connection point and that perhaps could solve the issue.
