E6 1.6 Software patch for gentle chips and putting....??

Well like other sim enthusiasts on the site, I’m honest with my feedback.

I spoke to E6 a month or so ago about gentle chips from the fringe and putting, the number of misreads and level of frustration was high amongst people on this site. Myself in particular, I just accepted the flaw hoping it would limit itself (it didn’t) and explained it away before starting around if/when friends came over to play. Short chips and fringe play is a significant issue. I never really was a big fan of putting on simulators anyway and still to this day on E6 and TGC do auto putt scoring. From tee to near green, the game is flawless on Skytrak, really and truly a great offering. Multiplayer is tops.

With E6 Connect on the horizon I was skeptical about E6 taking my case and feedback on board. However, they are now testing a Skytrak patch and have communicated this feedback to me - we will see what happens!! Stay tuned......

are you saying they are looking at a patch for e6 with the sktyrak or attempt to make connect chipping better with the skytrak when available. I would be surprised any work is being done on e6 1,6

I have played around with every "putting hack" on this forum. I even tried my own theory of putting a small ramp down (wood shim) to give the ball elevation while putting, hoping the camera would see it better. The results were not bad however I decided to tweak a different users placement. I put a tee in the mat on the red dot. I measured 3 inches towards me (away from unit) from the tee and 3 inches behind the red dot (away from impact screen). This seemed to work out the best so far. I did notice it likes small lettering and no logos the best. I had some Wilson Titanium laying around and found it to be the most accurate when the small print titanium was pointed to the camera and not the Wilson logo. Using bigger logos and/or black marker seemed to be worse.

Still not perfect but the hard pushes and pulls seemed to go away and I was able to make a decent amount of putts from 20 feet. Good Luck! (SkyTrak and E6 1.6)

Not to worry they are testing a patch and expect to release it soon.
Customer service sent me an email indicating by end of March.

That's great news, that's the main reason I stopped using their software...please keep us updated on the progress and results.

Any update on this? I submitted an issue regarding the putting and chipping a couple of weeks ago and got a response to the effect of it's not E6's problem, it's Skytrak's problem.

I love E6, bit the putting and chipping are unbearable at times. I don't even bother with the putting anymore. I just select the number of putts.
