We've got a new app submission going into Apple on Monday (V 1.7) that will include the following:

    -- Ground physics improvements.
-- Alignment Mode - you'll be able to turn on both laser pointers and align the unit at a target.
-- Added a "Center" reading for side angle and side spin when it's under certainparameters.
-- Improved multi-player challenges so that you'll be able to see markers for other player's shots.
-- New battery indicator logo, and warning.
-- New data sync status indicator.
-- Added a toggle to jump between Side Spin and Spin Axis.
-- Simplified and improved the connection flow.
    -- Other enhancements and improvements.

In January we'll submit V1.8 to Apple which will include:

-- Improvements to the flight model and club head speed for high spin shots.
    -- Further ground physics improvements.
-- Adding the altitude and temperature to the settings.
-- Improved ball trajectory on the range.
    -- Activate ground firmness options.

    Power/ Charging:
USB Charging adapter is not included. You can use your computer’s USB port to charge or a USB charger from an Ipad/Microsoft tablet. You will know if your USB charger adapter isn’t working if the bottom light flashes.
    Direct Wireless Setup:
    Turn on Skytrak Unit
Ipad: Settings, Wireless, Connect to Skytrak ###########.
    Open Skytrak app.
    Wireless Setup:
    Turn on Skytrak Unit
Ipad: Settings, Wireless, Connect to Skytrak ###########.
    Open Skytrak app.
Skytrak will ask if you want to use your WiFi.
Put in your home SSID and password. (make sure to click done after each setting)
    Issues:
Known issues with 5ghz networks. Make sure you use the correct security settings. Most new devices are WPA2 but older networks will use WEP. I have seen in some networks where the SSID has to be exactly the same to work (Caps/spaces/numbers/etc..)
    Tips:
    1. Users can try positioning the ball a tad forward of the red dot for super high launch shots since the ball isn’t traveling forward as much.
    2. Closing App from range to home. Double click the home button, swipe Skytrak app upwards to close
    Activation:
if you look at the email it has a code on it.
    looks like:
    SKYTRAK - ###############- activate now
do not use the activate now button, use the Activate link:
to activate Activation Only for a skycaddie not listed above click here: Activate

        Dear All,

I joined few day ago and all your reviews and posts helped me to take decision to buy SkyTrak. I already received the unit, but since I am Apple hater, I would like to know when the app or interface with PC and Android will be available.

        Best regards...

I believe their answer so far has been that those features are coming but no ETA yet.

where can we start placing feature requests like having the ability to save settings in the settings screen so you don't have to redo it every time.

I still can't get wireless to work for me on my 2.4GHz network. I have followed these instructions, I have tried other approaches- nothing works. It will connect to the router just fine- I can see it on my router webpage, and the connection light on the SkyTrak is solid amber. Then, when I go back to the app on the iPad it says device not connected, connect to the SkyTrak network in the iPad settings. So it's like the software has no idea that the SkyTrak is connected to the network. Is there some setting on my router or the iPad that needs to be changed (proxy, port, static IP, etc.)? I know it's not a WPA/WEP/etc problem- it only connects when I have the correct one chosen. I have tried all manner of restarting and resetting between the SkyTrak, the app, and the iPad. I am open to all suggestions.

Once the skytrak connects to the wifi network, and the skytrak app says to connect to skytrak network, go back to main page in skytrak (or restart the app), power off and back on the skytrak and wait 30 seconds. It may take a couple tries but eventually should connect.

Thanks for the advice, but it still does not connect to the app. I tried creating an open test network with all lowercase letters on my router, too. Same problem occurs. It doesn't matter if I restart the app, or just go back to the main page before I restart the Skytrak. It just never connects. I must be missing something, but I don't know what. Am I the only one who still can't connect with wifi?

Just checking, but are you changing the iPad back to the home wifi network? Since you've verified skytrak is using the home wifi network it sounds like the iPad is not on the same home network or some other wifi/network issue.

Good question. Yep, iPad is on the same network as the SkyTrak. They both show up on my router. Also, I verified that they are on my 2.4GHz and not my 5GHz network. I'm not a network guy, but a fairly tech savvy dude (not with apple stuff, though...) I didn't think the wifi part of it would cause me such grief with this thing. I'm sure I'm doing something incorrectly, just can't figure out what.

                          Connection through home wifi: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fDZQcwbRiAE
I created a youtube to show how I connect via home wifi. I start with my home wifi --> Go to the app and log in with SkyGolf account --> Go back to wifi settings and choose 'skytrak' --> Go to the app and type in the home network name and passcode --> Wait a little and it connects successfully --> I hit a shot to show the result. Hope this will help.

I am sorry that it is not a well made video. Some background noises. I cut off a portion of putting in the passcode. Other than that, it is almost continuous. If I had more time, I would have made a better one, but the new versions of the app are coming soon to address the smooth connection process, so I didn't want to spend more time in this.

The home wifi setting information is stored for the next session. But, I found I need to retype them after rebooting ipad.

Thank you for the video, it is very helpful. Mine definitely does not do what yours does. Maybe it doesn't like my router or something. I am at a loss at this point. I am going to go check my router settings.
edit: still clueless. Is anyone able to connect to the SkyTrak through a browser? If you look up the ip of the SkyTrak and type it into a browser, do you see anything? Just trying to diagnose. Thx!

here are a few things that I found I did wrong.
                              - I didn't hit the "Done" button after entering the WPA2 password, this is apple's submit button
                              - I forgot to check my MAC filtering security settings to allow new MAC addresses to be added
after this was done a few times it works and it has continued working

apple stuff is easy for non techy ppl and diffculty for ppl who are use to the window's way of things
