Best spin depends on ball speed and launch angle. It's a three-way relationship, really doesn't make sense to only focus on one of these numbers.

Having "pro numbers" regarding spin would be great.....as long as your ball speed is near 160+ mph....

Having spin <2000 rpm with a ball speed of, say, 100 mph would not be good as the lack of necessary spin would have the ball falling out of the sky too soon.

Now in my example, if you launched the ball abnormally high, you may be alright with <2000 rpm at 100mph ball speed.

All 3 aspects should be looked at when trying to "fit" yourself.

Mark Crossfield always seems to be gunning for low spin and his CS is quite low(though high launch). Don't know if GC2 algorithm is bang on re lower spinners as seems to differ quite a bit to Optimal Flight and Flightscope optimiser

Hello there. I just got my SkyTrak and I think it is awesome. Took it out to range and ball flight was pretty much spot on with the real ball flight. I'm so happy with this and have total confidence in the ball flight simulation and that I don't feel like I need to go the driving range now. I'm a scratch golfer and before I got this was shooting in the mid 70's (off season rust). Usually to get my game back it takes a lot of work at the range to dial in my ball flight and trajectory, but I was able to do it quicker in my garage with SkyTrak. Literally just a week in the garage and my swing is back. Unbelievable! With three kids I can literally do hours after they go to sleep each night. I can get in twenty minutes here and there when ever I get a chance. And in a totally controlled environment in my garage where there are no distractions. Thanks for bringing this out SkyTrak!!

        Anyways, a couple of requests:

        1) Can there please be a ball counter on the practice range screen which will count shots per session. Everytime I go to the Session History to see how many balls I've hit the app crashes. I'd like to see on the main driving range screen how many balls I've hit.

        2) There needs to be a way to access the raw data so that one can develop whatever training games, whatever that I can think of for training with this thing. Or perhaps they can add a feature to the app that lets you pick metrics to display and ranges for those parameters and if the shot is within range you preset the point value and also pick the point value for under and over range. Then whatever metrics you choose to display, the points are added up for each shot. This gives anyone the flexibility to create any kind of training system they want with the SkyTrak. For example, you could create a way to dial in chipping distances and measure your proficiency with an actual score. By the way, I'm so stoked that I can hit chips and pitches with this and it tracks those shots too!

        Thanks for the great system!!

I forgot to mention that the first round out after using the SkyTrak, I shot 2 under!

Also, to see some scale on the driving range app. I think I'm starting to get the scale, but if there were some targets out there that I knew how wide they represented, I could see and feel better how good or bad my shot was. Thanks! Or if SkyTrak could tell me how wide each mower line is on the range, then I could figure that out for myself. I think if your ball flight is within two mower lines, its a decent shot, but confirmation of this would be great.

Anyone seen these settings on the earlier apps? - Seems like they have (or had?) an accelerometer in the unit that measured pitch and roll?
On the settings screen here it had "Roll: -0.8 Tilt: 0.3"

This would help some people who have wanted answers about levelling the unit and the effect on readings.

I haven't seen 'accelerometer' settings on the earlier apps. I agree that the US version should have something like that.

I would like a skills combine added to the challenge package. A standard combine along with custom combine options would be nice.

I would second the concept of having a ball scatter view from directly overhead the range (with a yardage reference of some type). Ideally this could be toggled between carry (impact point) and total distance(final resting place), since I have a suspicion that algorithms for flight are more reliable than those that attempt to model impact and ground conditions and for many shots carry is critical. Getting a better idea of my realistic scatter patterns by club over time as referenced in "Every Shot Counts" would be of value. You can get a rough sense of this from the small diagram on the app, but the scale and the flight lines reduce the ability to use it effectively in this way. Pretty easy to put a little button bubble level on the device along with a little gun sight (since I find the alignment dots to be not all that helpful); I am hoping these custom additions will be helpful but could likely be incorporated in the technology. I would also like to be able to review swings (or even just look at history) within the app without having to connect to the SkyTrak device, assuming shots are stored in the app. It appears to me now that you have to connect to the device even to look at prior shots, unless you never close the app at all which is pesky. One more odd little thing, when you press the logo to fire off an imaginary swing for demo purposes, it adds it to your history just like an actual shot. This is a cute feature to be able to show off the device, but there should be a way to delete these dummy swings or keep them out of my history. I am certainly enjoying the device.

How about an option to download a raw data output for each session so people could analyze their own data. IE - a download of ball speed/launch angle/spin rates in a spreadsheet format so that a person could do a trend analysis of the measured raw data rather than on something that has already been butchered mathematically!

The "range" ajdustement sliders in the Challenge application are difficult to precisely change. When adjusting ranges, the displayed number frequently jumps 5-20 yards when removing your finger from the iPad. I would reccomend changing all slider input features to be a three digit slot machine tumbler input instead of a slider. This would allow the user to simply dial in a specific desired yardarge rather than attempting to lift their finger with the hope of getting the right yardage.

Agreed. I can't ever get the exact yardage when trying to do this, it always jumps around.

Also, I would like the display on the challenge to be more zoomed in on short challenges. I try 50 and up and it's just zoomed out too far when the ball lands to see how well you did. Obviouslyl the number comes up, but it would be better if this was adjustable as well.

It would be cool if the target practice app, let you set it to give you random distances between x and y distances - like say 100 - 175, force you to change clubs instead of hitting three x distances to accumulate points, hit x, y, and z distance. It would help me to stay focused.

This matches my request for some sort of "combine" feature.

I have also discovered that when building your "bag" the LW choice is off he screen and there is no way to scroll down to it.
