  • WGT or TGC for SkyTrak?

I have SkyTrak and would like to play golf simulation games. It seems that WGT and TGC are the two most popular systems. Which one should I get? Can someone list the pros and cons of each? Thanks.

I have both and TGC is a much better product.
WGT does not have the option to play local multiplayer if you have friends over and TGC does. The chipping and short game is very inconsistent in WGT and much better with TGC. WGT graphics are decent enough although it’s more cartoonish than TGC is. WGT is a much cheaper option I think you get full access to the game with the 200 annual SkyTrak plan, TGC is much more expensive. WGT has a limited selection of courses and TGC has 150,000. WGT can be used right off an iPhone while TGC needs a decent computer to run. I would go with TGC if you have the budget.

Good information. But WGT is only $100 /yr on top of the basic SkyTrak practice subscription so it’s much cheaper. It’s a good starter.

Thanks. I will look up but how much is TGC? Is it subscription based or you need to purchase permanent license?

    TGC
sim tour sim tour did I say sim tour?
IMO no comparison and price is better for TGC in the long run. Just buy and own it.
I enjoyed WGT but i'm not looking to go back.

What he said! TGC is so much better in so many ways. You can actually build your own courses on TGC. I think to buy it outright is regularly $995, but is on sale for $795.

Agree 100%. I brought WGT and it was ok for about 2 weeks. Wish I would saved the 100 (which you need every year) and brought TGC at the beginning.

so if you buy TGC fully for the 795 do you still have to pay the yearly 100 or 200 dollar play and practice skytrak package to play it??

$795 is a good deal for TGC considering it is permanent license. I may go that route eventually. For now, I will purchase WGT and want to play with it to see how it goes. It is very affordable and will serve as my entry to golf simulation. Thanks everyone for the input.

My understanding is $795 right now gets you tgc and tgc2019 at release. Im not sure what it will be in the future. You might want to sleep on this one before you make your decision final.

However you do need a real strong graphics card. So you're looking at PC dollars to run tgc. I think I ran wgt on my iPad.

TGC is much more immersive and has a 1000 times as many courses. WGT is nice enough, I've had both and far prefer TGC, and you own it forever if you buy the whole thing once.
