  • Locks up after first shot taken in skytrak app

    Please help.
    When I use skytrak now it will allow me to hit one shot and ball flight and results show in the Skytrak app (Desktop Win 10)
    But the top red light will stay lit and the application freezes.
    If I leave the app and come back in it will allow me to hit one more shot and then freeze again.
    What was interesting though, everything worked fine in JNPG and I could hit shot after shot without freezing.
    I uninstalled and reinstalled both 32 and 64 bit skytrak to see if any of that helped and it didn't, and I also hit the reset at the bottom of the skytrak.
    I did go to direct mode, as I was in networking mode, and it does work now.
    However, I have JNPG and was connected in network mode for everything and of course that is broke now and needs to be setup again.
    Are there any known issues why networking mode wouldn't work now? It has worked flawlessly for a year now up until a couple weeks ago.

    I have seen something similar to what you describe. For me, it is much more likely to happen if the Win 10 computer has been running for a while. So, when I get done I simply shut down the PC completely. Starting it from a new boot seems to get me the best results, and the missed shots are pretty rare. I run exclusively in Network mode. I have restarted the router a couple times, but can't tell that it is necessary (certainly doesn't hurt anything, just not sure it helps). In my opinion, most of the SkyTrak problems are probably Windows 10 problems. For example, when your computer is trying to download an update, I think the SkyTrak is less reliable.

    I'm no computer expert, so maybe I'm off base? Certainly worth a try to get your PC up to date (Microsoft updates) and then reboot before starting a practice session, or when issues arise.

      I'd check and double check your internet connectivity. That often seems to be the problem with freeze ups, happened to me until I changed my modem setup around. Internet connections can be pretty twitchy.

        Thanks for the responses.
        It is working now in the skytrak app.
        Not sure what fixed it but I redid everything like I was setting up a new skytrak unit from scratch.
        I uninstalled/reinstalled the app, reset the skytrak, and then let the unit go from direct mode to network mode as described in the setup.
        The weird thing was it worked fine using JNPG and didn't lock up.
        Anyway, happy to be back up and running again.
