  • SkyTrak Stopped Reading

Hi, My SkyTrack stopped reading earlier today. It had been working perfectly for the past 6 months (used almost every day). Nothing has changed in my setup. All 3 lights on the SkyTrack are green and the red dot is visible on the mat. I've tried the following:
    1.Re-Boot Router
    2.Connect in direct mode
    3.Connect in network mode
4.Reset Skytrack from little button underneath
    5.Reset iPad
    6.Tried SkyTrack app on iPhone

None of the above has made any difference, SkyTrack just sits there with all 3 lights green but does not detect any shots.
Any help / suggestions much appreciated.

Put the skytrak between your feet and the ball and try hitting a shot. Assuming you are right handed, put it into LH mode, if it reads, then your laser curtain is out and needs to be replaced.

Update: I also tried uninstalling and re-installing the SkyTrack app on the iPad.

See above to test and confirm.

I have never tried this myself, but if you turn the lights out, and take a picture with the selfie cam on your phone, it should be able to pick up the two laser curtains. If that is the issue, the rights side laser should be much weaker, if visible at all.

Do you use it outside? I had the same issue this weekend. Had a little mud/pollen on the screen. Used a damp microfiber towel, wiped it off then dried it. Haven't had an issue since.

Tried the left hand mode but it’s no different

That is probably good news, as it likely rules out laser curtain. Hopefully you will figure this out.

I've tried everything I can think of. Very strange, one minute it was working fine then it missed a few shots, then it won't read any shots at all. I've contacted support in the UK to return for repair. Unfortunately it may have to be sent to US and could take up to 8 weeks

I would take the unit away from your house so it cannot detect any network, then reset the unit, uninstall and reinstall the app on the iphone and then try to connect in direct mode and give it another shot.

Thanks for the suggestion wbond. Unfortunately I've already posted it back to SkyTrack for them to look at. I did try moving it from the garage to the house (different wifi network) but is still would not read any shots in Direct or Network mode in either left-hand or right-hand mode.
I will let you know what response I get from SkyTrack

SkyTrak have told me that the unit is faulty and needs to be sent to the US for repair. This could take up to 8 weeks. I've asked if they can provide a replacement whilst mine is being repaired.

Did they say if it was the laser curtain?

They have said it’s not the laser curtain. The problems only started following an Apple iOS update on the iPad. Do you think it could be related?
