New Skytrak owner, any tips?

Ordered a new Skytrak with a metal case and game improvement package that is coming (hopefully!) Tuesday. Am looking to get TGC2019 but before I purchase I just had a few questions I had that I was hoping you all can help me with.

1. Do I need an Ipad or Tablet to use the game improvement package? If so which one is better (more compatable with a pc, less delay time when playing)?
2. Going along with the above question, i wanted to get a touchscreen monitor to make it easier to navigate through everything. Would my best bet be getting a tablet? or are there better options
3. Which is the best way to connect to a PC which has less delay?
4. Any tips from skytrak users that you all can give me will be much appreciated! What worked for you?

1. No need for a tablet - your PC will run both TGC and the SkyTrak range and practice app.

2. I like using a Bluetooth keyboard on a stand near the hitting area - this one works well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XBTUK5M

3. USB, Network, and Direct all work well for me. You need a strong 2.4 Wifi network for Network mode. The faster your computer’s GPU, the less shot delay.

4. That’s a pretty broad question. Recommend reading through threads here, lots of good archived info.

Thanks for all the infor I might do that instead and save some $. If I have the GIP can I use that on my PC or can that only be used on a tablet?

GIP is just extra features in the SkyTrak app, which runs on a PC or tablet or phone.

I started with just an iPad and used the range and WGT. It worked very well while I used them. I upgraded to TGC and got a gaming laptop and it's much better in every way including less of a delay after shots.

I think you will want a decent gaming PC down the road, might as well start with one if you can. There are posts here where guys have used foot pedals for shortcuts on the buttons. Something to consider along with the touch screen.

4. Any tips from skytrak users that you all can give me will be much appreciated! What worked for you? Make sure your ST and FMJ is level with your hitting surface. This will help eliminate 'no-reads'. Pace yourself when first start playing/practicing. There are several stories from guys (including me) getting tendonitis from overuse.

Thanks for the reply, I will be using my high-end gaming pc. Cant wait! Thanks for the tendonitis tip, i read that on a couple posts but will definitly ease into it. Got a fibrebuilt mat also to hope to eliminate that problem if it does arise. What mat are you hitting off of?

I started with a CCE mat and now use a FiberBuilt. It definitely has helped with any pain or injuries.
