I agree with you for the most part and I do appreciate the efforts people are making to help make this better. I also agree that for the money we have the right to certain expectations. The point I was trying to make is not that its optimal, only that you can use it in its current state to help you achieve goals. I would be highly disappointed if the distance issue was never worked-out. And I will participate in discussions where I think I can add value. But my main focus is making my game better. For me, where my wedge game is (and its the worst part of my game), I get benefit out of hitting a consistent distance (even if its not actual) and working on that consistency. If I have to convert it in my head until things get sorted out I can deal with that. Its going to be months before I am hitting to anything but a net anyway.Originally posted by jacksonlui View Post
You need to know your exact distances for every club in the bag for a stock shot so you can compensate based on conditions. You can't do that when your numbers are off. Relatively speaking it works fine, but we need it to be exact. We didn't pay 2k for something that kinda works. It's advertised to the public with an accuracy spec. These fine golfers here are holding them up to that and I'm grateful for these guys, especially hks who has put in a lot of work. It'll also help ST make a better product. All products have to start somewhere and we're excited about the prospects. It's a great unit, just needs a lot of tweaking and that takes time.
To further the discussion on distance a little bit, I am making some guesses based on how I believe the machine measures ball speed and direction, but at the speeds and travel distances involved in the measurement window I am startng to wonder how much the geometry of how you have the box lined-up could effect distance calculations. I'm not going to go through the calcs (partially because they are beyond what I can comfortably do) but it seems to me that if the box were mis-aligned to your line by a couple of degrees that it might have a significant effect on the distance traveled within the time period measured and may then affect the speed calcs. Can someone who knows more about this than me comment on whether it would be significant?

It's all a relative measurement right? It takes two pictures and tells you what has changed and translates that into relative numbers. So if you're off by a little within an excepted margin, you should be ok. That's just a guess. I think they use accelerometers inside the unit to self level and calibrate. Thats the only way to get accurate numbers. How over the launch will be based off a level surface. If your hitting mat is a degree off then it's going to be off. Many parts of a garage isn't level, it slopes towards the outside. Relatively ST should be very accurate. They can't control outside conditions. Absolute accuracy is very difficult to achieve.Originally posted by Mike Z View Post

No, I can see the device listed in new devices, but its almost like 360 is looking for a skycaddie, and trying to sync with it. I do not think that the skygolf people and skytrak have completley integrated with each other just yet, just my guess.Originally posted by Jel View PostHas anyone had a successful sync with the SkyGolf360 server with version 1.7 ?

I hit a good amount of balls today and really like the new improvements, I do notice that now the ball rollout seems much better. I hit to a 30yd target today while adjusting my wedge impact, from rolling it over, (or putting a cover on it) to quick low drop and stops, the ball reacted just the way I expected with the amount of rollout and stop for each shot.

I'm curious if anyone knows where the E6 choice for the full simulation is coming from? Is it from Rapsodo (the actual Skytrak owners - a small startup company in Singapore) or from Sporttrak who is their USA distributor?
The point being that maybe Rapsodo can be lobbied directly to support TGC? Or a distributor in other parts of the world might go with TGC instead of E6.
Just idle thoughts...

So they are going the E6 cloud with a monthly subscription. Wonder what the cost per month will be and does that include all the courses. Wonder how long until it is integrated with Skytrak. I haven't played E6. It doesn't look bad but I keep hearing bad things about it. The graphics actually look pretty good! I just want to be able to play simulation software that is very accurate to my real swing and looking forward to how Skytrak will work with this.
I wonder if they will get Skytrak to read putts or if they will require you to get the TruTrac putting sensor pad. What's the cost on that again. I know it was pricey.
