Agreed. Keep in mind you are getting a launch monitor not a simulator. If that's what you signed up for then go for it. Its accurate. Some of us have been testing this thing for a year now. The issues have been the delay in shot to show, soft chips (much better with latest versions), putting (for simulation), simulation software options and the product launch. If you just want to beat balls into a screen then its great. Hopefully the company will evolve the product but that will come with "TIME" so you must be patient. The purpose of the reviews are to test and point out the good and the bad in a positive way so the company can use this information to get better. Isnt that what we all want? Hopefully other companies or new developers ( I am sure there are other units being developed somewhere, just as I am sure there are other creatures in the universe) can use this information to better and create new options.Last edited by Bubba22; 11-25-2014, 09:03 PM.

Well said, if anyone wants me to check out anything in particular, just let me know, shot shape, etc.

Is this any weaker in the horizontal angle than the gc2 and if so, were you able to measure the difference? How much different?
Originally posted by Bubba22 View PostSpudly, I have had the unit for a long time. Its very accurate like I said. Note the horizojntal angle of your shot on the screen and how it compares to the units horizontal angle. That is the weakest part of its measurement.

ZMax may be the best to answer that. We have the Protee hcam that show the actual ball path so it can be used to test. GC2 is better in the ball path measurement than Skytrak from what I see. Not that Skytrak is terrible but its the measurement that is the wesakest as we have been saying all along. Some element of the boa placement and alignment is the reason for this. There is the laser alignment option that the box can utilize but I don't think that option is available with the latest app.

This thing is friggin AWESOME!
Ok, for starters yes the delay is about 4 secs, I am not concerned as I am sure the PC version will be much quicker and yes it will have to be for simulation. WOW! it is really accurate, I tried every club in my bag and I know my distances and my feel (5.0) handicap and this thing was perfect. When I setup to hit a low hook it did it, same for a setup with a fade, high lob, punch, chip no problems!
I include the picture of the base, someone asked about stability, the unit is really stable, but if you look at the picture there is what appears to be places for a shield or base or something in the future.
Here is the link to the video, it is a dropbox link, if soemone knows how to upload a video directly to this site please let me know and I will do that also. I used a 6 iron in this shot which I usually hit about 180 or so, I pulled it a little but was really warmend up and went after it.
I hope the above works, please let me know if anyone is having problems, I can email you link also, PM me if needed.
Hi Spudly,
Nice garage setup there. I also have been using the NetReturn Pro net in my basement for the past 3 years. It's really the best out there if you have a limited space. I was thinking of just hooking up my iPad to a spare 27" monitor I have and place it on the side. After seeing your setup, I might actually pick up the projector screen accessory ($249) from NetReturn since I do have access to a spare projector.

My only experience with the GC2 was at the PGA show in January, Callaway was using them in their hitting booths. I am really going by feel and what I know form my swing and years of hitting balls. I have tested several different shot types as well as my setups for drawing and fading a drive, and so far it is accurate.

Seems ok to me, might splitting hairs here, but there are a couple of you who are more intune to these details more so than I.

Just like everyone else, I'm also waiting patiently for my pre-ordered unit to ship. I didn't place my order till Oct 27, so I don't really have anything to whine about if those of you who ordered on Oct 18 are still waiting for your units.
I've traded in my old iPad and am currently waiting for the Black Friday deals on new iPads. For those of you who don't already know, this week you can pick up iPad Air or iPad Air 2 from Frys, BestBuy, Target, or Staples from somewhere around $100 off. For example, Frys is currently selling iPad Air 2 16gb for $100 off, Target will have it starting Thanksgiving day with a $140 gift card. If you need one with bigger capacity, wait for Thanksgiving day when Best Buy will start having all iPad Air 2 with $100 off. If you want just the older iPad Air, you can find good deals throughout the week from Staples (now) and Target (starting Thanksgiving day).

The one thing that I noticed about the screen that you have to be careful of is higher iron shots tend to hit and veer upwards. They do not come off with any speed at all, just be aware.

I'm hoping with future versions of the Skytrak app, the delay can be minimized especially if they can update it to take advantage of the new faster processor in iPad Air 2. I highly doubt that this is something that will be automatically fixed just by releasing a PC version. There are plenty of iOS games that have much more sophisticated graphics and 3D actions than the Skytrak app, so I'm sure if the app is optimized correctly, the iPad should not be a limitation especially with the new iPad Air 2.
Also not everyone owns the latest and greatest PC with a $500 video card or an over-clocked Intel i7 processor to guarantee that the Skytrak software will run the same for everyone.
What I would really like to see is for Skytrak to make the app available to run on iPhone 5s and iPhone 6 since there are a ton more people with iPhone than iPad. For those of us who are planning to connect our Apple iDevice to a projector/monitor/TV (similar to Spudly's setup using the Apple display adapter), it shouldn't matter whether you are running the app off an iPhone or iPad.

I am sure that will come. The shot to show time may not improve with the Air 2. The issue is the processing speed of analyzing the pics especially for the spin measurements. either way there are options to improve it for simulation but that will be down the road I suspect. For now expect a delay of 4-5 seconds. Iphone app?????? Not sure if that's in the works, but its a good idea.
