  • JNPG Software Replacement for SkyTrak

Sadly JNPG is no more in August 2020. I am bought up with my subscription til then. I purchased JNPG as my software cause I wanted to invite friends over to play local. I have added hundreds of courses thanks to ***........so, now that JNPG will be gone next August what is another suitable software that will allow us to play together locally on my one SkyTrak unit? I don't see any other software out there that allows local play as JNPG does? HELP!!!

I see that there are quite a few videos on u tube - so I won't bother to make another one. I'm using the "old" E6, not E6 connect. I'll have to think about upgrading I suppose. Have to do a little research on the plusses and minuses.

My attention is turning to replacing JNPG. I have moved house recently and upgraded my hitting area substantially, with a 4m wide HD screen.

If I go for TGC 2019, I also need a PC upgrade, so even more cash. Lots of courses, but the other consideration is that this should be the best graphics option, right?

Creative Golf: not the best (known) courses, and expensive to buy all the packages, so this leaves me feeling that this is neither the premium or best value option. Happy for other views.

E6: Better courses that CG, still expensive if you want a lot of courses. I am not sure if I do - I am getting to the point that knowing a smaller number of course we’ll might suit me. No PC upgrade required. That’s a positive but also suggests that the graphics would be compromised, or am I wrong?

I can’t get the demo on CG as I tried it before on my old set-up but as I recall the demo doesn’t show you a lot. I will try E6 demo, and TGC 2019 won’t let me demo it.

All in all, no one option is making themselves particularly attractive.

      All comments welcome.

Can you get away with just upgrading your graphics card in your PC? As long as your PC isn't that old the GPU takes most of the hit with TGC so that could be something to consider.

With regards to which software choice it would be TGC 2019 for me. It's such a personal choice as we all like different things, I personally hate the buy the base package and add courses business model, I want it all straight away. I know I would start of with a few courses and then think am I missing out, are the other courses better, it would end up costing me a fortune. With TGC if a new course comes out I can just fire it up and play it without having to shell out extra £££££($$$$$).

For what its worth - my first software was TGC - with lifetime free upgrades. That was two years ago. No scramble play, and no upgrades ever offered. Instead they wanted me to buy a "new" product TGC 2019. Yes, I surely feel I have been taken!!!! Fool me once... Anyhow E6 works best for me - I don't play on line and I do play a lot of scrambles with friends - very social.

So it’s been about 5-months since I started this topic. Just wondering what other JNPG users are hearing they will use to replace it on SkyTrak? We play 2-ball scrambles with 4-guys. I don’t see any other software out there yet offering that. Anyone got new updates? Also, anything with the ability to use the *** to get PGA courses?

              E6 Connect has scramble mode.

GungHoGolf, yes E6 will allow 4-ball scramble so playing with 8 guys, but not 2-ball scramble where two teams of 2 play against each other.

I'm not sure what you're talking about, but we play E6 1.6 and/or E6C with SkyTrak twice a week with 6-8 guys and can play 3 teams of 2 players or 2 teams of 3 players or even just 2 teams with one team having 4 players and the other having 3 palyers. So, 2 teams of 2 players is doable just as 4 teams of 2 players is... The only difference between them is E6 1.6 has more Modes of Play. ex. Match, Scramble Match, Wolf, Hogan Point Game, Bingo-Bango-Bongo, and ALL the Alternate Shot RC formats.

I have TGC2019 and we do a modified ALT shot Shamble when we have 6-8 guys. We spilt up into 2 somes and one person takes tee shots 1st on even and the other on odd holes. If the team doesn't like like their tee shot then we rewind the shot and the team is stuck with the next shot by his teammate. From there they ALT shot until holed. I guess you could do that every shot if you wanted but it speeds up play just allowing "muilligans" on every tee shot. Ideally it gives all teams to start with a decent tee ball incase the 1st person goes OB or in water.
