I am having problems with my Skytrak reading my irons. Driver is working and short game is fine but I will often have to hit the same Iron 4-5 times to get it to register. I’ve tried blacking out the background, cleaning the unit, different ball placements, wearing dark shoes and clothing and haven’t had much luck. I read into USB problems and a few people on here gave me some tips that maybe the USB cable is picking up static electricity being as we are into winter months and the air is dry, this could be causing the issue, not the skytrak. So I want to try the unit in Network mode, I can get it to connect but then as soon as I load TGC and go to the course or the range the red dot goes away, the top light turns red, the middle light yellow. I’ve then read that 5ghz internet wifi doesn’t work with the skytrak, so I pull up the properties of my wifi and sure enough it’s 5ghz. Is there something I can do?

Does 5ghz band not work for Network mode?

Correct, the ST does not connect to 5ghz. I believe that the vast majority of routers have dual band, so there should be a 2.4 as well. In any case, for testing purposes, direct connect one of your devices, whether it be iphone, android, ipad or computer. All of those devices will have 2.4.
Since the latest update, I have to connect to my home network, then start the ST app/program, then log-in, then connect to the skytrack's wifi. It is a pain, but works. Alternatively, you can skip log-in while testing.
