I heard the new skytrak software only has a 1-1.5sec lag after hitting the ball. Can somebody confirm this? I was about to pull the trigger on a certified foresight, but I would rather save multiple thousand by going with the skytrak and upgrading my Epson vs350 projector along with the skytrak.

All the videos I have seen are around the 3 second mark. But I talked to someone from rainorshinegolf.com and they said skytrak has got it down to 1-1.5sec. I don't see any video on YouTube where anyone has that fast of a response from their skytrak. Besides the delay, is the accuracy of the unit pretty spot on? What software Is recommended for the skytrak? Do you regret buying the skytrak, or used another unit that you would have preferred to buy instead? I really like the affordability of the skytrak, but love the functions and instant feedback of the foresight gc2. Would love to hear everyone’s feedback and opinions on this matter. Thanks

I believe 2 seconds is the absolute minimum, even for a top of line gaming PC. In fact, if you have have a recent phone or ipad, you will get very close to that.I don't think that can be improved upon without new hardware, but I would love to be proven wrong.

Aaron150 there is a new flightscope mevo+ for roughly the same price coming out at the PGA show in january. if you are somewhere in between deciding, id wait and see what comes out of the show... so far though most people are pretty happy with skytrak, but 1 year with no updates could mean something big, or its as good as it gets for the unit. GC2 is a total different price point and different unit... thats next level up

I have never tried to actually time the delay, because it is so short. It exists, but in practical terms is immaterial to my use of the device. By the time I finish my swing and look up at my laptop screen, the shot is on the way. That is fast enough for me, even if very slightly delayed compared to real time. Not just for the price, but in absolute terms, the ST works effectively for the practical purposes of playing sim golf and for seeing your shot shapes and distances. More expensive devices may provide additional data, but by all accounts the bottom line of where the ball goes doesn't materially change, and that's really all I am interested in.

What kind of difficulty are you having with TGC2019? ... and what kind of high-end desktop specs do you have?Originally posted by jhaynes4211 View PostI'd say 2-3 seconds I'm getting and I have a high end computer, trying to run TGC 2019 but having some difficulty.

I play into a net with skytrak, and honestly by the time I hit my shot and look to the laptop screen, I see my shot. Personally, I don't think instant ball flight alone should be reason for thousands more invested in a unit. Like the others have said, a 2 second delay is about what I experience, if I'm trying to notice...

No one on this thread has answered your question LOL.
there has been zero chatter other than this thread and what you were told through the Grapevine about a software update limiting the delay to less than 2 seconds.
would be nice but unless it’s down to less than 1 second, there is still a delay. Would 1.5 seconds vs 2 seconds really sway you decision? You wouldn’t even notice it.
if you’re fine with a delay just get the ST. If you want no delay and theoretically better ball reading - then get the GC2.-KillaCale8

I second the TGC2019 choice. I love being able to play almost any famous course imaginable as well as some incredible user designed courses (course designer is a major bonus for me). Great graphics and mostly realistic ball dynamics. Online tours are fun. One time cost and good support. Cons are course search is difficult at best as there is too much crap content mixed in with the quality stuff and no scramble mode. I recommend going to steam and picking up the PC version of TGC2019 on sale for 14.99. I use that with an Xbox controller to design. Plus if you go to HB studios forum (publisher of pc version) http://www.hb-studios.com/forum/index.php?board=105.0 you can check out all the new user generated courses....ones that look good I’ll play a couple of holes on pc version to see if they look like they’d be good on sim....easier to do on pc for me anyway. There are a ton more courses on that forum then the course discovery of this one mainly do to the much higher numbers of pc/console players. No system/software is perfect...for me it’s about hitting balls through the long Michigan winters. Have fun!
