I am most likely going to be purchasing a SkyTrak soon, but I am having a hard time understanding what software requires iOS (mobile) and what software can be ran on a PC or Mac laptop. My thought was to initially get the Play and Improve package and then purchase TGC2019 in the near future. With that said, it says WGT is included in the play and improve package. Can I run the P&I software with a PC? I don't want to have to purchase an iPad for the P&I software and then have to purchase a PC for TGC2019. Can someone shed some light on operating systems are required to run the different software options? Thank you!

The SkyTrak range application can be PC or iOS.
TGC is PC only.
I have never used WGT but I know iOS is an option but I’m unsure on PC (I think no).
My understanding for Mac is you’ll need to Bootcamp in to Windows for anything to work on a Mac laptop.
If you’re going to get TGC in the near future I’d skip WGT from what I’ve heard. I suspect the SkyTrak app will keep you entertained for awhile if needed.

I just recently purchased the Skytrak myself and waiting on it to be delivered. But as what I’ve learned from reading their website and this forum. All WGT requires iOS regardless of the package purchased Game Improvement or Play and Improve. All others you’ll need to play on your computer or laptop.
I really wish you could buy the TGC 2019 or other software programs without buying either of the WGT packages.
Edit:
I just learned something from Gresh12, didn’t realize that you could use the driving range on either you computer or iOS device.
As for MAC, I can’t give you any information on that because I’ve never used one, as always used windows based computers.Last edited by GWM91; 01-02-2020, 06:01 PM.

So if the P&I package requires iOS and TGC requires a PC, yet you must have P&I to play TGC...does that mean you must have both an iOS mobile device and a PC? How do the two tie together if you need both to run TGC2019?

You only need an iOS device if you are using WGT. And you only need the Play and Improve if you want to play WGT. Play and Improve is the same as the Game Improvement membership, just with WGT access added. You can run the SkyTrak app on either platform, PC or iOS no matter which membership you go with. WGT is what is only iOS compatible.

Yes I believe that’s correct. From what I understand, you don’t tie them together, it depends on what software you decide to play and what device you connect to the launch monitor at that time.
I’m probably going to go through a lot of questions here in the near future in this issue. So, I’ll let the experts fill in the blanks and I’m going to keep an eye on this thread.

iOS devices plays the driving range, Game Improvement (limited WGT access) & Play and Improvement (full WGT access)
Note: if you have an iPhone you could use that and an Apple TV to mirror it to your tv or Airplay compatible projector.
PC plays the driving range (per Gresh12 comment) and TGC 2019, TruGolf E6, or whatever program you buy.
If you decide on buying instead of the annual, the best value is TGC 2019.
If you are going to annual route, the fest value is with TruGolf E6.

Game improvement plan is just to open up extra features it's not something you run as such, its a subscription plan. The Skytrak app will run on PC/IOS or Android then depending on which plan you opt for the more features you will get.Originally posted by jwat142 View PostOkay, so if I get the Game Improvement plan to start, I can run that on a PC it sounds like.
No GIP or PIP package gets you a basic range where you have very limited options.
GIP - Full range features plus access to use other third party simulation software if you desire. It also allows closest the pin on WGT which as others have stated is IOS only.
PIP - Gives you all the features of GIP plus access to 10 courses in WGT(IOS only).
If you do want to use third party simulation software such as TGC, E6, Creative golf etc. they as far as I know are all PC only. (E6 connect does run on IOS but I won't go there). You need to maintain your GIP subscription to use any of the simulation options. If you don't pay you don't play.
