  • Anyone using VoiceAttack with their ST?

Interested in how you use it to control your ST, and your mic setup. Thanks.

I use it in fsx 2018 with my GC quad. I have every function automated from opening to closing. I did have to train the voice and I added specific phrases in the Microsoft speech recognition engine. I would say it works about 95% of the time prefectly

Yep, have got it setup for skytrak ...have it set for each club, and also to open the shot optimiser. Never have to touch the keyboard, whilst on the range .. just yell "Pitching Wedge" and it works.

I did need to add some pauses into the commands, only something like 0.1, whilst the mouse was moved ... but works flawless

What are you using for a mic, and where is its location relative to the tee?

I am just using the mic on the laptop, here is a pic showing the location ... (very untidy setup). Have also done a quick vid, showing it working, and also screen grab of command

After reading a comment about it here about two weeks ago, I picked it up immediately. I mean $10? Not that big of a loss, plus the designer even suggests that you download the free version first to make sure it works for you.

My experience over the last two weeks of using it is that it's not perfect, but well worth the cost. Also, I'm certain it would work even better for me if I spent extra time "training" the Windows Speech Recognition, and if there wasn't so much echo in my garage where my set up is. I also tend to listen to music while I play, and have found I need to turn it down so the Speech Recog can pick me up easier.

            Other weird things I've noted...
            • It doesn't seem to like very short and punctuated words.
              • "Up" for instance it really doesn't like for me. I just changed it to recognize "Not Down" instead, and it works fine!
            • Once a command has been incorrectly recognized, it keeps incorrectly recognizing it.
              • If I say "3 Wood" and it recognizes "31" (fairly typical, actually) as I repeat it, it keeps hearing "31".
                • The best way I've found to break the cycle is simply to say something else like "why you no worky?", pause, then try again.
It has it's quirks, but is a very customizable program. Very detailed. I can't wait to try it out with my Sim Racing that I also do. The more your hands stay on the wheel, the better.

if the misunderstanding happens regularly, you should set up the "31" as if it were a 3 wood command Shipwreck34

doublepar22 it's not a bad idea. I've done it before (see: Not Down), but I can also be stubborn sometimes. 😁

Something else just occurred to me along those lines... When I see what it is picking up as the misread (in this case 31) I can just set that up to do what I actually want it to do. e.g. saying either "3 Wood" or "31" both give me the 3 Wood in game. Hell, I'll set it up to say "Woody",and "Give me Wood", too.

Just to impress my friends, of course. 😂 I've already set it up to give me my Lob Wedge when I say "Money"! (It didn't like "Lob Wedge") LOL

Thanks. I think I'm going to give this a try.

agreed! I've set up a few easy ones like flyover and right/left but a full list or profile to upload would be mint!

Sharing profiles doesn't work great, because many commands require that you enter the click coordinates to click a button, and coordinates will be different on different screens.

It's really not hard to add commands in VA once you get used to it. About 30 seconds to do each command, once you get the hang of it.
