TGC 2019 - SkyTrak version - can you only play with SkyTrak?

This is a basic question but I have just purchased TGC 2019 but haven't had a chance to play it yet as it takes a little time and cooperative weather for me to set up my ST. I am wondering, with the version that I bought through ST, is there no way to play just the game version (with the Avatar that I built), or am I only able to play with the ST? It would be nice to be able to play some of the courses on game version in order to check them out and decide which ones I want to play. I don't really see any options for that though so perhaps it may not be possible.

Nope, you'll need the $50 steam version to play it arcade-style.

Ah, thanks for the quick reply. I got it. Does that version require as much hard drive space as my ST version, in other words, would I be double loading that onto my computer or is that simply an online version?

It would probably require as much hd space as the sim version.

Thanks. I just noticed that they are running a sale on the Steam version for $15 so I went ahead and got that so that I can mess around with it and check out the courses during my commute or downtime. It does require 5.2 GB. I had to extend my Boot Camp partition when I downloaded the SkyTrak version go gave myself plenty of extra space so it should be sufficient.

I know it's too late since you already bought on steam, but the other replies arent entirely true. You can play with a controller/mouse+kb in the course designer (which is a little game in itself by the way, if you like that sort of thing). Even if you don't have any desire to create a course, you could be sent any course file and play it to your hearts content.

Granted, you don't earn any progression playing in this manner. But you can.

Thanks for your reply. As it was only $15, it wasn't too much of an investment so I am ok with this.
It is good to know that there may be other workarounds so I will be sure to ask around here before making any decisions.
