SkyTrak v3.4.1 Official Release

Hi Everyone,

As you all know, this has been quite a wait - thanks to all of you for your patience! There are a lot of backend changes that needed to happen for v3.4.1, and thus we will be rolling this release out over the next couple of days. I wanted to start with the forum and give you guys first crack at it before it goes live to the public. So below, you can find the PC download links for 32-bit and 64-bit. Please give this a go and let me know if you run into any issues. Assuming all goes smoothly, we will roll out iOS and Android beginning tomorrow.

v3.4.1 Release Notes

- Added support for multiple accounts to aid in switching back and forth easily between users and for multiplayer challenges.
- Added the ability to create a custom golf bag in Profile. You may toggle to this bag in the Practice club selection popup.
- Improvements to high ball speed measurements (150mph+).
- Fixed Dispersion Circle display bug in shot plotting screen.
- Fixed LH display bug in Shot History.
- Fixed delete shot bug in Practice Greens.
- Added Internet Availability icon to Dashboard.

I just ordered a skytrak with the game improvement plan and very excited for it to arrive! I held off on getting the $200/year package based on how frustrated people seem to get from chipping on WGT. Was this fixed in any previous updates or is the chipping still an issue?

Chipping in WGT is still a disaster at best. You can fix it a little bit by turning the green speeds down to slow. And setting the hole locations to easy helps a little by giving you mostly middle pins to chip at. But it's still frustrating to watch your ball roll .... and roll ..... and roll some more until it finally stops 37 feet away where the game will then be kind enough to offer you an auto 3-putt.

Putting is not much better.

That being said, the closest to the pin challenges in WGT are a lot of fun. They are 9-hole challenges (so 9 total shots) that are taken on 9 different holes of whatever course you choose with a good mix of short, medium and long shots. Every once in a while they will give you a chip but most of the shots are full shots. Fun to see how many greens you can hit and it tracks your total combined distance. It's definitely a nice break from just beating balls on the Skytrak range. And while the WGT course play does not offer multi-player, the closest to the pin challenges are easy for 2 (or more) people to go head to head. And the WGT graphics are really good, especially considering the low hardware requirements to play it. (Although it is iOS only; no Android/PC for WGT).

If you are already paying $100 for the game improvement plan, I personally think another $100 for the play and improve plan is worth it. So as much as I trash it for the chipping, there's still value there and it's a nice alternative if you aren't ready to pull the trigger on more expensive software.

I have had issues with the latest update. I am running this on a PC. Once the ball is hit and lands, it can take up to 20 seconds for the numbers to come up and reset itself for the next shot. If I click on the screen when this happens it comes up as not responding with the loading circle.

Hi SkyTrak_Seth - any ETA on the SDK update and shipment to your partners? E.g., Protee and others?

No update as of now, although the system is in place to distribute the new SDK. It just has to be a coordinated effort across all partners for a few reasons. It is high on the list to get done.
