Any tips on low spin numbers? Using new balls on a good mat yet getting really low numbers. As an example, my 6 iron carries 165 at best but today on the sim I am getting 180 fliers with 3200 spin

Logo of ball towards camera always? Catching them high on face will kill spin some. Also mats reduce spin, but 3200 pretty low. I see 4500-5000 or so with 6 iron indoors (P-790 TM irons, Titleist AVX balls).- Ron at GunghoGolf.com - we specialize in TrackMan, FlightScope, Foresight, Uneekor, SkyTrak, Garmin, Bushnell, TGC, and E6 Connect. 512-861-4151 or email hello AT gunghogolf.com.

IN case you haven't already factored this in-
There is a major spin difference between golf balls brands/models. I've been using Srixon soft feel and they have at least 15-20% less spin than a comparably hit ProV. (Watch the ProV's and high spin balls though, they tend to get scuffs easier and can eat screens alive). Little scuffs that I wouldn't care about on the course can tear up a screen. So when I'm using spin type balls on the sim I keep a very close eye on any nicks or scuffs and throw those in my golfbag for the real world. I have a BUNCH of highspin, slightly nicked balls that I stopped using on the sim that I'll use when (and if) the courses open again.
p.s. (off topic) The Srixon SoftFeels, I played them all winter in my sim and didn't crack one. In the last few weeks I've cracked about 8 from the same box that I've used all winter. Temps about the same all the time. Can't figure out why,. Weird.Last edited by trhuke; 04-03-2020, 03:28 PM.
