Skytrak Hub ?

With the current Skytrak unit being quite old now (which is a testament to the quality of the original design), I wonder how long before we see a 'Skytrak Plus' model or 'Skytrack V2'? I'd be keen to hear the thoughts of others, but I really don't think a whole new unit is valid as the current model still holds its weight and is as reliable as any of the other products in comparison on the market. But at some point in the not so distant future, I'd imagine the company would rely on a new model or new flagship product to generate new revenue.

So instead of a new model, what I would love to see is some external addon options for the current Skytrak. Something like a 'Skytrak Hub', which connects either wirelessly or via USB (if possible) to the Skytrak unit itself or alternatively, directly to your computer running the Skytrak software, and is used to connect these new additional addons to the Skytrak unit. This way, current users would remain happy as they still own the latest Skytrak model and wouldn't need to fork out thousands of dollars to by the latest unit, which effectively would have made their current unit obselete. This obviously would continue to generate a lot of new money for the company without having to rely on releasing a new model, effectively discontinuing the current unit.

My 'Skytrak Hub' external addon ideas:

• Skytrak Cameras - Small 'Go Pro like' cameras that run in sync to the Skytrak unit. 1, 2 or 3 of these external Skytrak Cameras could be plugged into the Skytrak Hub, allowing the user to record videos of their swing, synced to the shot data from Skytrak, similar to the current Trackman unit and software.
• Skytrak Radar - A small 'Mevo like' external unit which could run in sync to Skytrak, connected to the Skytrak Hub which reads additional data such as club path and other metrics that the current Skytrak doesn't relay, or doesnt report accurately.
• Skytrak Align - A small external unit that shoots out different alignment lines via laser on to the ground or mat which is customizable or template loadable via the Skytrak software.

I'm sure people could add to the list of external addon ideas, but the point is, at some stage or other Skytrak will likely want to push a new model or product, so what better way to do it than to keep the current model as the flagship whilst expanding it with addional new and innovative external addons.

I was absolutely convinced that they would announce something this past January. Especially with Mevo+ as a direct competitor. But nothing. And guess what? Due to the current situation, they are selling like hotcakes.

I think Skytrak simply bought the design from Rapsodo, and that was that. I don't think they are in the hardware design business. It would not have been hard to lose the delay. It doesn't bother me one bit on ST range, but definitely a factor on TGC.

There already is an integrated camera add on via Swing Catalyst. The easiest add on would be an overhead camera. Just a cheap image sensor with a zoom lens that captures the ball in the same 6 by 6 inch window, but from above. It would simply open the shutter and image the ball from the ST strobe, and then send via bluetooth to PC/ipad for processing. Would get rid of the achilles heal of ST, HLA error. It could also help with alignment as it "sees" both the target line and ST alignment.
