  • Can’t connect to SkyTrak unit

I’m new here so I may be a little unfamiliar with terminology, but here it goes:

I recently purchased a used skytrak. I received it today, opened the box, turned it on. It shows a solid red ready light, a blinking red WiFi light, and a solid green power light. I’ve tried the hard reset with a paper clip and it will not reset. I’ve tried using multiple iOS devices and none show a WiFi signal of SKYTRAK ________ that I can connect to. In the SkyTrak all, it perpetually shows that it is discovering and looking for connection. Any ideas on what to do?

I don't know how things might be right now with all the virus craziness, but you can try Skytrak support. Since it's a used unit, I'm not sure if they will offer support or not. I had an issue getting mine registered when I bought it and I used the online chat feature on the website and then a phone call. They walked me through it over the phone and we got it resolved.

Does the middle light ever change from blinking red to solid red? It should....Did you already have it connected and try to program it in network mode? What happens if you take the unit and walk it away from your home network range and then turn it on?

Nope. Never stops blinking red. I bought the unit used and was never able to connect to my own home network. I tried a hard reset to put it into direct mode, but the unit would never reset. Tech support suspects the unit may need a battery replacement.
