  • Double camera's for swing recording.Possible on Skytrak?

I'm interested in installing camera's to record my swing once I get my sim up and running. Is it possible to do this while running Skytrak or TGC, does it require seperate PC?

Im new to all of this stuff so I dont get it at all really. Any advice, tips or information is very welcome.

    Thanks.

The best solution is Swing Catalyst with two Chameleon3 cameras and a fast PC. It integrates with SkyTrak, using it as the trigger to start recording. Google “swing catalyst SkyTrak”.

There is no integration with TGC, but that wouldn’t work well anyway since both TGC and SC require lots of cpu and gpu resources.

I am looking at your suggested cameras for Swing Catalyst to integrate to my Skytrack setup.

I am not able to hard mount the cameras to anything, so I will have to use movable tripods. Any suggestion for tripods?

Potz Pretty much any tripod that extends up to waist height or higher will work fine. I like the Slik brand for lower-cost options, like this one: https://www.amazon.com/SLIK-U-8000-P.../dp/B00009V314. This Amazon brand tripod is cheaper and has a bunch of good reviews (but I have no experience with Amazon tripods): https://www.amazon.com/Tr%C3%ADpode-.../dp/B005KP473Q. The demands on a tripod in this use case are very minimal - the cameras are tiny, and you're not moving them around much at all. All that is required is a stable base and a head that will securely lock in position.

The latest version of Kinovea (0.9.1 beta or later) with two inexpensive monochrome cameras is an excellent solution for many, as is OBS with the same cameras. You can always buy better cameras. Lots of threads on these so read up before spending $$. They don't require a separate PC but may work better with one, try them on your sim PC first and decide from there.
