Got a brand new Skytrak about 3 months ago. I always leave it plugged into the computer via USB so it always has a full (or near full) charge.
Played a round of TGC on Tuesday night. Everything was normal.
Went out there tonight (Thursday) to play and the Skytrak was saying it had 0% battery life and I got the "low battery" warning.
Turn off the Skytrak and the charging light stays on for about 20 seconds and then turns off, so now there's no lights on.
Brought it inside and plugged it into the wall. Same thing. Battery light comes on for about 20 seconds and shuts off.
So there's 2 problems here. The first is how in the heck did the battery get drained? I had it on for maybe 2 hours on Tuesday and it was plugged in the whole time.
The second issue is why won't it charge?
Anyone experience this before? I know a lot of people have had issues with the USB cable that comes with the unit. So that could perhaps explain why it wont charge. But that doesn't explain why the battery drained. (Unless it's been draining during the last couple sessions and I didn't notice, but I never got the "low battery" warning message.) The only thing that could explain it is if I failed to turn it off when I finished on Tuesday and the USB cable has gone bad. But that would be quite the coincidence.
Got anything??
Update: Connected via network mode to my ipad and suddenly the battery was back to 100%. Plugged it back into my computer and connected in USB mode and battery was at 100%.
So I guess it's fixed .... but that was really bizarre. The Skytrak for some reason got fooled into thinking the battery was drained when it was actually full. 2020 folks. 2020.
