  • SkyTrak Network Mode not working

I just received a new SkyTrak but cannot connect using network mode.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've researched this forum and believe I've tried every solution.

    - I'm using windows 10.
    - I changed my wifi name and password to <11 characters using numbers and letters only.
    - I'm trying to connect using the 2.4ghz signal.
    - I don't have an IP conflict as my IP address starts with 192.168.....
    - I can connect to the SkyTrak wifi signal but SkyTrak fails to connect to the 2.4ghz signal from my router.
    - SkyTrak does not show any available networks when it scans. When I manually enter my 2.4ghz network it shows 3 green bars.
    - I've deleted and re-entered my 2.4ghz network credentials multiple times to make sure it didn't have a typo.
    - SkyTrak's level 1 support said it won't work with my ISP since it is dual band. He said I need to change to an ISP that offers single band and then he referred me to level 2 support.
    - Level 2 support only works M-F 9 to 5. I work these same hours so I'll need to take time off from work to get this resolved.

Should I return SkyTrak and get a Meevo+? I've already spent a lot of money building my simulator while waiting for the SkyTrak to arrive.

I always used direct mode, but then I wanted to demo E6, so I tried network mode. Didn't work. I went through all the steps, total nightmare. I finally got it to work, total nightmare. I will try to remember what I did, but I think I followed somebody's trouble shooting guide. Probably Ron Hornbaker/gungho golf. It said to first try a reset of router. The next step was to take the skytrak out of wifi range by going around the block. I didn't have to do that step.

1.) Returning the Skytrak already would be a bit extreme lol.

2.) What is it that you are wanting to do? Just use the Skytrak range? TGC2019? e6? The only real reason to connect in network mode is to play WGT. If you're just looking to use the Skytrak range or play TGC, connect in USB mode using the USB cable that came with it. I've found that USB mode is WAY more reliable than network mode. (Not sure if e6 requires network or if you can do USB there too).

3.) One little trick I picked up from someone on this forum when trying to connect in network mode = turn on the Skytrak first and THEN turn on the computer after a few seconds. I found that this trick worked very well.

I used to use network mode when I had WGT and the connection would be spotty some days. But now I just use USB all the time and I never have issues.
