  • Help - 1st day of skytrak - issues!

First night playing on skytrak and I've had a negative start which is a shame. Probably just teething problems.

I practiced on skytrak range and tgc range, worked fine. Clearly struggling with indoor swing syndrome but I'm sure that will be fine in time.

The issue occured when I tried to play a round on tgc2019, all lights were green, I hit my driver on the first hole and nothing.... then I looked and the ready was now on red with the other 2 on green. I waited and nothing happened. After a while I reset skytrak and exactly same thing happened. Restarted both game and skytrak and same thing happened on first tee.... any ideas???

The skytrak was level with my mat and I connected the skytrak via USB mode to my pc.

    Thanks

    Gary

When you say it worked with TGC range do you mean the original TGC or TGC2019 range? You still need to connect the Skytrak using the interface then launch TGC2019. Sounds like you donโ€™t have the Skytrak connected in 2019.

As simmb said, it sounds like tgc2019 is not communicating with the skytrak. Did you do the step that requires you to "connect box?"

Sorry yeah I meant TGC2019 range, hit balls fine in it then went to a game and thsts when the problems started. Should be connected fine, it was all ready for me to hit, when I did it didnt read it then the lights changed from all green to not ready.

Also this might sound daft. Do you have to log into skytrak and then tgc2019 or can you just do tgc2019? I do both and I guess I wondered whether whilst playing tgc2019 does skytrak keep trying to make it use the other app?

That might be a daft statement but I am new to this

When running TGC2019, you cannot be connected to Skytrak app. Start tgc2019 interface. Inside interface, discover skytrak. Start tgc2019. That is all I have ever done.

Open the Skytrak app and establish the connection. Then close out the app. Now open TGC and do the "connect box" step.

It sounds like you might be leaving the Skytrak app open while trying to play TGC. Close it out first. (although it's odd that you were able to use a TGC practice range this way?)

The Skytrak app is not needed to establish a connection. It is not needed in any way to play TGC2019. It doesn't even have to be installed.

Really? So you can just open the TGC interface, connect the box and head to the tee? I thought a Skytrak connection had to be established first.

I typically hit about 10 balls on the Skytrak range first before I play to loosen up and check the alignment of the unit so I always open it anyway. But this is good to know.

Correct. You can go straight to TGC2019 if you want. It has a range as well. If I am in a rush, I will allow myself mulligans on the first three holes while I am warming up, lol.

That sounds similar to what I'm doing. I'm opening the app, connecting it by usb, keeping it open on the main screen where you can select challenge, practice and another option. Minimising this then opening tgc2019.

Maybe that's my mistake I'm minimising rather than closing.

As I mentioned above, you don't need to run the Skytrak app at all. The TGC2019 interface does the connection.

Keeping the Skytrak app open will keep the connection locked to the app. You need to close Skytrak app Not minimise, open up the protee Skytrak interface and click connect box (pic attached). Once that is connected just leave it running and start TGC2019.

Exactly. You need to close out skytrak completely. Not just minimize. They cannot be open at the same time.
