  • I can't make it through 18 holes without disconnecting

New to skytrak and I'm having frequent connection issues.....

I can't get through 18 holes without a disconnection in one way or another. I've tried it in usb mode and network mode and both disconnect. My skytrak app is closed and I tend to be able to reconnect via interface but still annoying.

I've also had my tgc2019 game crash twice too. Once during an online society game which I can get away with as position is saved but one during an offline game which you lose your progress. Pc is above recommended requirements.

Really frustrating and amonst other issues is spoiling the new game feeling.

Anyone have these issues and know a fix?

Go into your router settings and rename the 2.4 band to something easy and unique like "skytrak". Then connect your skytrak to that wifi network. See if that helps out.

Thanks Wbond. I've changed that and I'll see how I get on. Thanks for the advice

So it appears that this made it worse. Just played 27 holes and I had it disconnect 4 times on the 2.4ghz option.

Wondering whether it is an internet strength issue? I did a test and I got 25mbps on normal router then 14mbps on 2.4ghz. Would this cause an issue? Signal strength is ok, not amazing

How far away is the router? If it is in another room, it may be worth trying a wifi extender. It does sound like the computer may be the one dropping the internet connection intermittently based on what all you have tried.

Yeah I'm buying one as we speak, my simulator is in the garden building which is somewhere near 15m from the main router.

            Hopefully that's the issue

Very likely that the wifi drops out on you. And in case you don't check the other thread, to save you time, you don't need to run Skytrak app first when playing TGC2019.

            Thank you Morini, very helpful.

I've bought a wifi extender which arrives today so hopefully that resolved the issue. From now on I'll also go straight to the interface 👍🏻

So, were you having the no-reads in off-line games as well? Was there any pattern to the no-reads? I have been having some issues with my ST recently as well. Mostly, the no-reads come on putts and today was particularly bad as I had to putt about 5-6 times just to get it to read one. by the time I got to the putt it did ready, I was so frustrated that I zoomed it past the hole and had to putt again.

I did also have some issues with reading some other shots as well such as a fairway wood off the turf here and there and an occasional wedge. I ended up restarting the computer, running first and then shutting down before opening TGC 2019. I took it out of the FMJ and dusted it off, cleaned the camera lens and will see how that goes. I did try out putting practice and it was reading everything but I am not sure if that was a cleaning issue or a connectivity issue.

I have also had TGC 2019 crash on me a few times recently as well. Interestingly, I generally had it crash more frequently when I had it just running on my laptop but it rarely crashes when I have the laptop connected to the 4k monitor with much higher graphics resolution. I am not quite sure why that would be. But I have had it crash a few times recently even when connected to the monitor. The computer specs are fine to run this and it doesn't seem to be overheating or anything. Not sure why it is crashing. I generally don't play offline so I can usually restart where I left off. When mine crashes, it also seems that the program is still running as I can hear the audio, but the video for the game just shuts down. Does yours do the same thing?

This is frustrating though and it would be great if there were an update or a fix.

                Hi Sirish,

I hardly have misread issues, it was simply disconnecting. I checked signal in there and it was 1 bar at best. Wifi extender gives me a solid 2 bars signal so I'm hoping when I try it tomorrow night it's fixed.

                Have you checked your signal?

Thanks Gary, I see. I have had it disconnect a few times and I think that is a wi-fi signal issue. I recently added an extender as I play out on my 3rd floor balcony where my router is on the 2nd floor and I do have some issues with Zoom meetings from my study that is connected to the balcony. The extender definitely gives me a stronger signal/range and faster upload/download speeds on the balcony, however, I still see a lot of fluctuations in signal strength ranging from -38 dBm to -70 dBM so I am wondering if that fluctuation is where I am dropping the signal.
