Sorry to complain again, but what tittle says, Skytrak really is that.

It seems impossible to me to hit iron over 140 meters (carry) and that is total joke.
3i is my biggest gun in irons.

I know I can hit it from tee about 200m total, so I asume my carry would be like 180 at least.
With Skytrak, that seems to be totally dream.

I actually really havent hit woods with Skytrak until today.
I tried to hit 3W. My carry distance was about 150m. What the.......
Ball speed was max if I can remember right about 125mph.
I know my 3W swing speed and its about 100mph.

What else Ive noticed, that wedges are accurate, but when you have like 8i in your hand.
Difference from normal is about 10% and it increases when you go bigger clubs.

One other thing.
I know my 7i ball speed very well, because Ive hit trackman on it like million times.
Its 110-115mph.
With Skytrak I rarely get over 100mph ball speed.

I do not doubt this is indoor swing thing, because I had Optishot many years.
I can hit socks of with my irons, but I dont use woods much.
I do care about my neighbors, because of sound.

After this crying, does anyone know why this is like this?

Theres plenty of pics out there of people carrying the ball 300+ yards, so I don't think it is just an "expensive toy" that always reads way short. It would have to be either something to do with your set up/swing or at worst just a hardware issue.

I'm thinking optishot was the toy. I had great luck with my skytrak and saw the results outdoors too. Do what wbond and fantastish recommended and report back. The only issue I had was with woods not irons.

Basically to echo what Wizard said .... Optishot is a toy. Skytrak is a legit launch monitor. I can't imagine that you spent years being impressed by the incredible accuracy of an Optishot lol. If you aren't getting accurate reads, it's something to do with your setup.

If Skytrak was so poor in quality, then how do you explain the many, many users who report it to be extremely accurate? If it were so inaccurate, wouldn't it be inaccurate for everyone?

It's my belief that 99% of the people who complain about Skytrak either don't have it setup correctly, have a serious case of indoor swing syndrome or just simply don't hit the ball as far as they think they do. Skytrak has been tested side by side with Trackman and performed very well.

Is it a brand new unit or a used one?

I wish Skytrak had a setting that let you adjust distances by a settable factor based on your known outdoor numbers. For tournament purposes the adjustment amount could be shown on-screen. This would eliminate one of the most common complaints and also compensate for the "Indoor Swing Syndrome".

Adjust the elevation if you want to fudge your numbers and pretend you hit it farther than you actually do. Nobody is having tournaments in the SkyTrak software, and where the tournaments actually take place this kind of setting already exists (and it's not allowed to anywhere near the extent OP is complaining about).

SkyTrak is accurate, and sometimes that is a negative to those who live in la-la land.

The adjustments are done in software (ie. sim). It is called boost in TGC2019. In the case of skytrak range, you can as mentioned use elevation (0.5% per 1000 feet), or just do it mentally if you are sure of shortfall. But the reality is that 98%+ of Skytrak are accurate on average. By this I mean off a few yards shot for shot, but in on average accurate.

Fantastish wanted some data and here it is. Just five shots with 7i quickly.
I know there is nothing wrong in data. With those aspects, ball goes where it goes.
Problem is that ball speed is very low.

If Ceedee has been on Trackman multiple times, probably know distances very well.

I carry a 7-iron 155 in real life and those numbers are what I also see in Skytrak.

If anything, skytrak shows slightly longer carry. I tend to get pretty low spinning shots in Skytrak, I think that is due to hitting on artificial turf instead of grass. My spin is usually 4-5k with a 7iron hitting off a mat. The lower spin that skytrak sees results in more carry.

Interesting. Spin was on the high side for hitting of a mat. Probably too high for that ball speed. Never seen that before.

Skytrak ball speed is never off by much, so this is your ball speed. It is just two pictures compare by image analysis software. Cameras don't lie. On the other hand, if you really know your 7 iron ball speed, it is either:

• Bad case of indoor swing
• Club/mat interaction (grabby mat)
• Your unit is one of the 1%ers (miscalibrated).

The quickest thing you can do is to hit some irons off a short tee to eliminate the mat. Other than that, you can, hit outside on a windless day. Or side by side with Trackman.

If he is a zero index he knows exactly how far he hits it. Best take it outside and confirm there is a problem then contact skytrak. It should work great and it isn't a toy when it comes to your iron game.

Agree. I am going with steep swing on grabby mat. 7400 rpm average off mat with 97 mph ball speed? Doesn't add up. Like I said, Ceedee, tee up some irons. Might save you a having to take the Skytrak to the range.

Just to confirm, you've also tried uninstall ING /reinstalling whatever software/app you're using and have tried to upgrade and/or downgrade the firmware version on your unit?

Might be the ball... After beating away at a ball for some time, they need replacing.
Pull out a brand new ball and hit away.
