Don't forget eBay has something like a 10% fee on top of the Paypal fee. I was going to sell mine there but decided not to.

I think what sucks in this case is that a lot of them are brand new, most likely from people who are just flipping them.

If someone wants to sell their used ST and people are willing to pay more than retail to get it faster, then fine. But right now there's a lot of speculators making a profit from being middle men; they had no intention of using the ST in the first place.

They're expensive because SkyTrak has been barely shipping any out since the shutdown. I doubt a lot of people, if any, are flipping them.

How often did people resell them brand new before the shortage? I mean there are a few reasons why someone would do that, but all of of a sudden you can find 'brand new' ones on ebay everyday, and not from retailers. Hell, a guy on the facebook group had two of them to sell... both unused.

ebay used to be a place where i would go to get cheaper used stuff ,don't know why people are paying so much more over retail for a used item(that is not discontinued )

There is an announcement on the Skytrak home page that says all orders are currently backed up by 10-12 weeks because of Covid.

The people buying them off eBay are just people who are willing to pay a little bit more to get their Skytrak now as opposed to having to wait 3 months. And honestly, it's not like these prices are way over retail anyway. I believe the total for a new unit with the case after taxes and everything is $2,300 to 2,400. So paying an extra couple hundred to get it now rather than waiting until 2021 to get it is not at all crazy to me, especially for people in northern climates who are at the tail end of their outdoor golf season.

I did some math. I took each price you listed from eBay then accounted for sellers eBay and Paypal fees. I then compared it against what I paid shipped from Skytrak. The difference is assuming no FMJ or Game Improvement Plan. Most of them are not making a killing. Additionally, Ebay charges the 10% on shipping payment paid as well, I did not include that.
