    Ipad / Display Setup

    Hi all,

I recently purchased a Skytrak and expect to receive it early November. I plan to use the WGT for simulation so I am likely going to use an Ipad for display.

We have some really old ipads but I guess they are not supported by Skytrak.

Wondering if you could share your experiences with using the ipad for display?

    Thanks,
    Gerry

I personally use my iPhone and using a lightning to hdmi adapter, I connect it to a flat screen TV. Much easier to see then an iPad (and cheaper) if you already have an iPhone..

You can use the same adapter to do the same thing with an iPad. Or you can use the same adapter to project the iPad image onto a screen with a projector.

The iPad display itself is okay for practice but it's a bit small for sim play.

I bought a refurbished iPad off ebay for $90 shipped. Works like a gem and looks like it's brand new. Given how cheap they can be found for and also given how cheap a used flat screen TV can be had for these days, at the minimum I would set it up to display on a TV if you're going to play sim golf.

Thanks - appreciate the feedback, will definitely setup a TV/Monitor display.

        Cheers,

          Hi guys,

I have tried 2 cables from Amazon now - HDMI to Lightning. Neither appear to work, I assume these should be plug and play as long as the input is set properly?

          Anyone had similar issues?

          Gerry

All good, seems if the IOS device is charging at the same time then it works fine.

With an apple TV, you should be able to screen mirror into TV. I should be absolutely fine for Skytrak range.

I bought this device from amazon that allows me to mirror my ipad screen to my BenQ projector. After resolving a few setup hiccups, the device works fantastic! Only $30
