    Skytrak issues

I just got a SkyTrak second hand this weekend and the previous owner stated it worked great. I have owned one before and never had any problems with it. I hooked it up yesterday and it would read 25% of the shots that I would hit. Then when it would read the shot my 9 iron would travel 300 yards, or the trajectory would crazy high, or the ball would be a shank to the right with me hitting it perfect into the net.

i searched online and did every they stated from moving ball positions, trying different balls, improved the lighting in my garage, tried different connection modes, restarted the app and unit itself. I also bought a game improvement package and registered the SkyTrak. They did mention about pushing the reset button under the unit for 10sec and the lights stayed green after holding it down for 30 sec even and also hitting the reset button with the unit off. I am at a loss for what to do and I really would like to figure this out after saving up for a while to pay for this.

if anyone could help me I would really appreciate it. Thanks!

Very likely is at wrong height. Start with that.

I changed the height as well, making it the same height as the mat. Also brought the height down below the mat and above the mat. Still no improvement.

You may have bought a lemon. I might be contacting the seller if I were you. Do you know how old the unit is?

Are you hooking it up to a pc / projector setup? If yes, try any other connection mode other than usb.

Sounds to me like you are just getting some crazy misreads. Anything white or reflective behind you, on the wall, etc? Also make sure the window on the front is clean. I can't think of much else that would cause wild readings like that. Is the data consistent? If so, is the ball speed always extremely high or something?

I am hooking it up to my iPad and then also tried my iPhone to see if it was the iPad, but still the exact same readings or no readings. I cleaned the camera window, and also my background is my garage with no reflective materials.

is there a way to send it to SkyTrak to fix it?

Are you using this unit in the same space where you used the previous Skytrak that you owned?

Absolutely! In fact, I would recommend that with any secondhand SkyTrak purchase just for piece of mind. Same as with buying a used car, always good to have it checked out. Just reach out to support and they can arrange to get it in.

. As mentioned, most common cause of whacked readings is wrong height, but you already checked that. The next likeliest is probably poor case fit. It may not be sitting well, and could block the field of view, similar to wrong height. Just be careful. If not the case, then either something reflective interfering, or most likely an issue with the unit. Reduce ambient light to the minimum needed to see the ball. Skytrak does not need external light to capture the images, and too much can interfere. If you have a camera with a flash, take a photo from the point of view of the skytrak and look for a bloom. Could be as subtle as the tiny reflector of a bike helmet on a shelf behind you.
