  • Direct/Network mode on PC broken

    Greetings all,

Let me start with my Skytrak works perfect with my IPad. I have managed to reset it to direct mode and hook it back up to my network and network mode works perfectly. Now, do the same process on my laptop always results in the app stalling at "Looking for connection" prompt. USB mode does work on the laptop. I have rebooted my router and also added the Skytrak.exe to my firewall exceptions. There is no virus protection running, just windows firewall. Also no VPN software running. Looking for ideas so I can get TGC2019 working again.

    Thank You!
    Jimmy

You say that USB mode works ... why not just use USB then?

USB works with Skytrak software, not the Protee/TGC Interface AFAIK. (edit: And I'd prefer not to have another cable)

I play TGC2019 in USB mode all the time. Works perfectly fine.

Actually thank you, it does. I just tried again and it does work, go figure. My long USB cord may be needing replacing.

I am still interested as to why direct/network modes suddenly stopped working on PC after having worked for months.

I always used network mode when I first started out and I would sometimes lose connection (my setup is in the garage). Once I went to USB mode I've never looked back. Definitely the most reliable way to connect. Plus, it's quicker to get things started because you don't have to do the whole establishing a connection song and dance. I rarely even open the Skytrak app anymore. Just open the TGC interface and off I go.

My computer tower is only a couple feet from my Skytrak (and on the floor) so the USB cable doesn't bother me.

Not sure why it would have stopped working.

Unfortunately for me, I have to drag my equipment outside to the patio. But I can make USB work for now.

I did just install Skytrak on my desktop, and it works perfectly via network mode, so it must be the laptop.

I recently went from I-pad using network mode to PC (Alienware) with a wired connection to router and USB to Sky Trak! Al I can say is WOW! I will NEVER use I-pad again. But when I first hooked it up it seemed to work great for the 1st few days, then I was starting to have issues! E6 loosing connection? How could this be? But I was just reading in the above post from 3on3putt, "he said that he rarely opens his Sky Track app" Hmmmm! I was opening Sky Track app first getting connection then opening E6! tonight I didn't open Sky Track, and just fired up PC opened up E6 and it played a flawless round! more than I can say for me! THANK YOU 30n3putt! I thought you had to open the sky track app before playing E6, NOPE! I learned something and this forum is fantastic! Thank you and I'll keep reading and learning!

Anyone got anything for alot of balls going to the right? I know its most likely NOT the Sky Trak, just my swing! But I have read about something on there is no air to grab the ball and stop the side spin so its not uncommon for the balls to drift right? any truth to this paranormal?

                Thanks everyone!

                Dave

Yes, unfortunately lots of people are under the impression that they need to open skytrak app before playing TGC2019 or E6

I just got done working with a customer who had the exact same problem. Working with ProTee support now, so know that they are on it. Not quite sure how wide-spread this issue is. I would expect an update later today.

When you say running, do you mean not installed, or just not running. When I installed NordVPN, skytrak stopped working direct or network mode. It didn't work even when Nord wasn't running, and I even killed all processes I could find, but no luck. So I uninstalled, and it worked.

A few months ago, I helped another user, and relayed this info. He uninstalled his anti-virus, and it worked. Something to think about.
