Some background, I play a pretty large push draw. I was hitting the other day on the monitor with a 7 iron, and it was only reading about 50% of the shots I hit, solid contact but big push draws that come back to the target with 1500 to 2000 rpms hook spin. I tried playing around with it to try to figure out why the monitor was not reading, I checked the height of it, fresh logo, level, distance from the net, all of that and nothing worked. Then finally I tilted the monitor 15-20 degrees open to the target, and that was when it went from reading only about half the shots, to reading every single shot I hit. I was wondering if anyone else has had issues with the Skytrak not reading shots that are pushed 5+ deg right of the target.

Skytrak Has Difficulty Reading Push Shots

HLA accuracy is the weakest ball data metric. It uses the change in ball size between images to determine side angle. It is obviously calibrated to be optimal for straight shots, and 5 degrees is probably pushing it a bit. Since your shot shape is one way, as such, when on range, probably best to have it so that you align where the ball starts. That won't help in TGC2019 obviously. Since you only move the ball one way, I'd also try to leave the skytrak aligned straight, but try to move the ball away from the laser (towards your feet). Also try a few inches the other way, just don't get too close to the skytrak so you don't hit it.

How long have you had the Skytrack?Originally posted by itsScoobie View PostSome background, I play a pretty large push draw. So is this a new issue? Or has it been performing like this for 4 years? If it's only reading half of the shots, I would have to wonder if a laser curtain might be going out or something. That's obviously not normal and since you've had it for 4 years we can eliminate "new user error."Originally posted by itsScoobie View Post
4 or so years

New issue, but also relatively new swing. I tried the advice of moving the ball about an inch closer towards me from the laser (thanks Moroni), and it worked wonders. Did a 150 ball session, only 1 no-read. Very happy with how well it workedOriginally posted by 3on3putt View Post
