Skytrak issues - need some extra problem solving

Quick question for you - maybe you can help. Tonight I went to play with my Skytrak. Went through the alignment process I always use and then hit 7 Iron chips to make sure things were reading correctly. (Unit was level and aligned and standard lighting/shoes/balls/clubs I've always used with no previous issues - ever).

However - When I took full swings - nothing read. tried again = nothing. Different club with full swing = nothing. Chip again = readout. Full swing - nothing again. On and on and on.

I had installed the Beta 4.0 software, uninstalled and reinstalled previous software. Again - chips worked, no full swings registered.

I'm at a loss of what to do and any recommendations would be great. Never had any issues and now it's baffling me. (also - the balls I'm using are the same as I've used before.) essentially everything is the same as the night before when I played 36 with no issues.

    Thank you for your help.

Maybe you could increase ball speed gradually and see where reads cut out. Hard to tell what is going on, but likely either wrong height, or your laser curtain is on the fritz. Test by putting in leftie mode, turn unit 180, place between feet and ball and hit over it.

Jason, are you by chance using USB mode? I know we see static issues a lot around this time of year. Also, is your unit in the metal case? If you waggle your club in front of the laser can you get it to trigger? It could very well be a laser curtain going bad. Curious if it works all the time in LH mode?

I'm not using USB mode as I've always been in network or direct mode.

Waggling doesn't work as set up normally to trigger but short chip shots do - however, if I slightly turn the machine at a different angle either way then it works - and I can hit full shots. So I'm wondering if it has something to do with the laser curtain, leveling, or the hitting mat... I'm going to try a few more things tonight to see if it's leveling or the mat. If it's not - who do I contact to get it fixed?

Just do the 180 test. Takes a few minutes, and then you know.

Does it work when you angle it out or in?

Yeah, if it's the laser curtain, then flipping it around and trying a LH shot will tell you for sure. You can even hit RH over top the unit in LH mode if that's easier.
