    No-reads creating disconnection?

Interested in people’s thoughts on something I’ve noticed in the last few days. It started when I was playing Creative Golf with our kids. They’d periodically launch the ball too high and Skytrak wouldn’t read it. No worries, except that in virtually each instance Skytrak also then disconnected and I needed to restart the program to reconnect it (oftentimes if Skytrak disconnects it’ll just auto reconnect, which is a nice feature of CG when playing with friends).

I took some note of it but didn’t think too much about it. Fast forward to my playing TGC yesterday and today and I launched a couple too high as well, with the same result. Disconnection, and with TGC that means a restart every time.

Have others noticed this? It’s a minor annoyance and not a major issue, but something of which I’ve taken note. It may be just coincidental but there have been 6-8 instances with the same outcome in a short time frame.

Can't think of any reason why it would ... unless certain ball parameters crashes Skytrak-Creative Golf interface.

Same thing happened twice with TGC. Could just be coincidental but I hadn’t seen it (or at least noticed it) before since getting the unit in November.

Seems to me it would be the other way around. The disconnect happens so it doesn't read the shot. Are you positive its not actually disconnecting prior to the shot?

Well speaking against that is the high anecdotal correlation to high shots by kids. Could be coincidence. Whatever it is, a mystery.

    Hi,
Interesting post. I have a similar problem. But in my case the disconnection follows only after a series of consecutive no-reads.
Also, only with the kids playing. They are not launching too high though, but too soft or not straight enough.
Skytrak will disconnect after multiple consecutive misreads. I reconnect by switching the Skytrak on and off. Faster than resetting Creative.
I found out a work around. After 2or 3 consecutive no-reads from the kids I will play instead. Skytrak will read my ball and will not disconnect.
Enter a Mulligan and the kid is up again.
Bit of a hassle each time, but it works.

I will need some help though with the Skytrak for all those no-reads (quite a lot)....
    Any suggestions are welcome!
