Wtf ???

What is up with the left spin , just trying to get this SK aligned is a hassle ,I am trying to post some screenshots of the ridiculous numbers I get just trying to get it aligned, but it says my file is too large ,BS

I spent over 20k on my simulator room its getting to the point where its not even fun to use it .

This morning getting it aligned to hit some balls , 7 yard chips with a 6 iron , I open the face wide open side angle 22 DEG that sounds correct as I opened the face and aimed way right , but 11 DEG Left Spin Axis , WTF .

How in the hell do I hit a draw on 7 yard chips with a wide open clubface ,with a path thats going way right .

I know when I hit a big block , on skytrack everything is a draw ,I do not know what else to try to get this SK aligned .

Sorry for the vent but this is nothing more that a toy ,you cannot get serious practice if the ball flight in not true .

I am sure you are aware, but even if your path is right, if its farther right than the open clubface is pointing, the spin axis will be to the left.


That being said, sounds like you need to send it in for repair. My skytrak has had a few issues with not reading shots at all. And when this started happening, on shots that did read, I was getting massive side angle and side-spin discrepancies just as you describe. However my unit was only registering maybe one in 10 shots when this happened, so it was clearly defective.

Skytrak does feel draw-biased to me. And there has always been the issue with a lack of spin decay, so any spin-axis causes exaggerated hooks and draws. But its not so bad to be un-usable.

I think yours is defective. Call them (1-800-385-3188) and if its under warranty they will fix it. If its out of warranty they will still fix it for $100 - $200.

Yup it adds up ,I live in Puerto Vallarta Mexico so I had to import everything ,FB studio mat was almost 2k , PC 3k , Projector ,2K , ST 2K ,TGC 1K , Carls enclosure 2K ,theater curtains ,carpeting ,putting green ,bar , construction , installation , actually more than 20 K, its all good its humid here in the summer nice to practice in the air conditioned simulator room , will be looking into other options this alignment ,and super draws are getting old ,

Yes trust me the face and path were both right , they should be straight pushes ,not draws

1. Read up on new ball flight laws vs. old ones.

2. When aligning the skytrak use a wedge, not a 6 iron. And don't try to manipulate club path and face angles. Just hit straight chips into a spot on your screen that is straight from your hitting spot. Use alignment sticks or a string or whatever to determine your straight spot. Then just slightly turn the skytrak in the appropriate direction until the chips that are hitting that straight spot are showing up as straight on the ball flight. It should only take 30 seconds to do and doesn't need to be done every time.

Also, make sure the bottom of your skytrack is at the same height as the top of your hitting mat. It's a common error that's important to get right. If it's in a case, remove it from the case to see if that changes anything.

I will try taking it out of the metal case today , and try to get this thing aligned, I have a few buddy's that are chronic slicers that love playing on my ST because all they hit are nice draws ,but they get back on the course and the draw is gone .

I am about to give up on ST and upgrade to a better launch monitor I already have the sim room which is great its just the SK that makes us not even want to use it .

Skytrak is accurate on average in terms of back spin, spin axis, ball speed, vla regardless of setup. HLA is accurate if properly aligned. Setup wise, three things need to happen. Skytrak at correct height. Nothing reflective in view of the sensors (chrome bumper bad, matte white wall ok). Align unit or you will have HLA error, degree for degree.

Your unit may be at wrong height.
