I just received my SkyTrak today - my excitement unfortunately was a little killed by the condition of the package. I know this is probably a UPS issue, but the lack of care in packaging is a little concerning. I haven't powered on my device yet to check for damage, but has anyone had similar experiences with this? For such an expensive device I would expect much better care. Hoping for no damage to the device itself!

That package looks like it’s been opened, and I don’t like to take chances when buying new electronics. I’d contact the seller, show them the pictures, and request a replacement unit, a return label, and perhaps some sort of discount.

Yes - I should have clarified this is a purchase direct from SkyGolf (SkyTrak manufacturer). I have filed a claim with both them and UPS. No real harm as long as the device works, but if there's issues even in the short term I wanted to make sure it was documented with them that it could be attributed to poor shipping and handling.

My friend and I hit for about 3 hours last night. Unfortunately distances were crazy off. We are both high swing speed players, but given a lot of what I've watched and read my SkyTrak was not even close, specifically on distance. A 6 and 7 iron, for example, were only going about 115 yards total. I still have a few more things to try out to correct whatever may be wrong, but unfortunately I think I either got a faulty device or it was damaged in shipping.Originally posted by AndersonRains View PostI just received my SkyTrak today - my excitement unfortunately was a little killed by the condition of the package. And before I get the "indoor swing" talk, I'm well aware.
Some shots were 60+ yards short. We weren't able to get a single accurate reading on distance over 3 hours of hitting which is most concerning. Ball flight/spin seemed to track very well.

Has anyone had any luck with exchanging their SkyTrak or at least getting customer service from SkyGolf? I’ve filed a claim, submitted photos and videos and am being told it’s indoor swing syndrome - despite video proof - and then just zero response after that. Any tips?
I’d love to get a working unit rather than returning it altogether. Really disappointed all around.

Have you taken the unit outside, taken it out of the case, made sure the bottom of the skytrak was the same height of the hitting mat, lasered a target and confirmed shot shape and distance is off? Very simple to do with 100, 150 and 200yd distances. Make sure to use good balls you don’t mind donating to the range.

Just a thought. Not sure where you’re located, but if you’re in a high elevation location you can set the elevation in the Skytrak app to match your location. This makes a small difference in the carry numbers.

I’m going to jack up the elevation. I’ve tried everything I can find but haven’t done that yet. Didn’t really want to. I’m in Atlanta

Skytrak may be finicky in that it needs to set up correctly, but it is not the type of device that goes inaccurate because it got dinged. If the sensors got knocked out of alignment, I'd expect lots of misreads. But who knows. In any case, I would not use distance alone as a measure of faulty device. Extremely rare to the point of being unheard of that a functioning device is short on distance. My friend and I hit for about 3 hours last night. Unfortunately distances were crazy off.
